Statement Of Purpose: Getting Into College

Improved Essays
When I was growing up I always wanted to be someone important, someone that helps others. I’ve always held interest in the Medical Field that my Mom and Dad have advanced through. I always wanted to get the chance to study everything about the human body. My parents of course went through years of hard work and training to get where they are. I will have to do the same, get into a college, and score a degree. I’ve taken Dual Credit classes to get ahead of the game, made myself a well rounded student in extracurricular academics, received an acceptable SAT/ACT score, and searched out colleges that fit my standards and needs. The last step however is both the easiest and hardest. Getting into college.

If I could go back to the past and talk to myself in September 2013, I would tell my younger self to be prepared for the next four years. I would advise myself to plan out my work and actually do assignments ahead of time instead of putting them off until nine o'clock the night before they were due. I would tell myself to not take honors trig because it was too much to handle combined with all of my other classes, as well as saying, that just because it was recommended to take a class, it doesn't mean I should've. I would recommend actually trying to do the workouts for field hockey before preseason. That way it wouldn't be so bad in the future.…

As a high school student, college is always a thought but it is a thought that is almost never followed by an action. A big reason for this is because not many students are given the opportunity to discover who they are and what they are capable of doing. Four tools that I encountered that have really benefited me toward knowing more of who I am and what my future holds are the following: FYI, MBIT, PSAT, and ASVAB. Because of these advantages, I am now a part of that small percent of high school student that has college in thought with actions and a plan to achieve my future. When it comes to choosing your future career, academic subjects do take a big part in it.…
