Tessa Young never really enjoyed parties. She always thought they were boring and gross. The sweaty teenage bodies and the wasted guys that would say inappropriate things have never really been appealing to her, but she came anyway tonight to her best friends halloween party. She only came because it was her best friend who asked, and she could tell people we’re beginning to think she would never be happy again after what happened last summer. Tessa did not stop running until she got to her house that was on the top of one of the steep slopes in San Francisco. She shut the door behind and sank to the floor catching her breath. Her parents weren’t home. She knew they wouldn’t be. They were out partying and getting drunk with their rich
