But as we got older and towards the time of adulthood we had to think of what we were going to do in life. No job would hire us because of our background. The only thing we could of was joining the military. When we turned 18 we had to enter the draft which was a drawing of men who had to go to war.
Soon after Hitler rose to power we got drafted. Boot camp was intense, they needed us to stay tough and fit when we shipped out to France.

The only instruction we had was to follow our commander. He led us into the tents we were going to stay in when we weren’t on the battlefield. They were the biggest tents I’ve ever seen in my life. Most of them could house 50 people with ease. There were tents where you can eat,sleep,and just hang out with friends. It was nice while it lasted but sooner or later all hell is going to break loose.
