Two years ago I was forced to break up with the boy who I thought I would of last forever. Unfortunately, nothing could be done to stop it. The reason been was that my boyfriend is a Christian and I'm a Catholic. Therefore, his family didn't want us to be together because they were extremely strict towards their religion. For this reason was that the time we were together, mostly his mother was the one who would be after us making our lives impossible. We met in the park, it all was like love at first sight. In the park we were doing community hours. It was that his group were almost doing the same thing as my group, so because of that we met. After finishing doing our community hours, he later asked for my name and I gave it to him. We talked …show more content…
Therefore, we started talking by phone and we would like sneak each other because of his mom wouldn’t let us see each other. One time, he invited me to go to the movies, obviously we watch a religious movie because he is not allowed to watch other kind of movies; the movie lasted about two hours. After that, we went to eat an ice cream cone. It was so perfect, so romantic that I really thought that this would be a happy ending. I saw in his eyes a beautiful bright light that shined like the sun. I thought to myself, “Wow, we are for each other no matter what people say”. One day, as my boyfriend was leaving his house her mother suspiciously followed him because she noticed the change he had. We met in the mall; I didn’t notice that his mother was hiding somewhere. We continued walking around the mall until we decided to go and eat something. While he went to order the food, I saw his mother. Apparently she noticed that I saw her and so she took advantage and came towards me. Before my boyfriend came, she maleficent told me, “Stay away of my …show more content…
Her mother didn’t give him a chance to explain well. “I will not stop doing this until you two are separate”. In my head I thought to myself, this relationship is a challenge because I’m dealing with a mother that will do anything to separate me from her son for the fact that we are not the same religion. Later on, he texted me and told me, “Hey I’m truly sorry about the other day. My mom behaved super rude. I know I told you that my mom was super strict with relationships with different religions, and you still accepted to be my girlfriend”. After that, I told him that when people really fall in love with each other, there is no impossible. As days passed I had to be strong enough to not see him for some days. The reason been was to make her mom belief that we broke up. Two weeks passed and finally we got the moment to see each other. My eyes couldn’t believe it, he brought me a bunch of roses and a love letter. I was literally crying because I saw in his eyes the joy of been together after two weeks knowing the

For the majority of my life before coming to Texas A&M, I knew that I had to figure out a way to get here. Getting a college education would be my escape route to deviate away from becoming a low income family like my mother and her previous generations. My mother did the best she could to take of her three children by herself, but like many single parent households she struggled to do so. Due to my mom being the sole bread winner, there was often not enough money to maintain our household. I remember many days when we were only able to eat one meal a day that consisted either of half a chicken sandwich shared between my sister and I, or just a pack of saltine crackers.…
