It was Friday in fall of 2017. I was with my friends and classmates in school. The friends that were in a group were, Lucas, Max, me (Gurkrish), and Joshua. I was playing on my phone at the end of the day before lunch. I went to go put my phone away, and I did. After that, I saw a chair, so I wanted to practice doing parkour.
I gripped my hand on the chair and my other hand on a table. What I didn’t know that the table was super wobbly so when I went to go jump over the chair, the table moved and my foot hit the chair so it fell and I landed on my hand. Next everyone started to laugh at me because I fell. I started to look at my hand. The bottom of the thumb where it curves and starts going into the wrist. We waited until they called us again. My mom and I went up where they called us. A man brought us to a room where we waited for them to come. After a while and they told me what happened. Same thing as last time I said, “ I was doing parkour and fell over a chair.” They said where did it happen at and I said at school. They pump my arm with a machine I don’t even know what it is. Then they wrapped my arm with a cast. After two days I went to school. It was normal but it wasn’t, it was very hard. I had to write with my left hand, type with left hand. After one or two weeks I got surgery on my hand. Before I got surgery we were waiting in a room. I was going on my mom’s phone looking on Instagram. My mom was crying and I was not scared. Right when they took me to the room my heart started to beat really fast. They brought me to the room and put a breathing mask on me. They first put mint but then put laughing gas on. I laughed and laughed and then I felt like I passed out. I woke up and felt super sick. They put warm towels on me, They brought my mom into the room. I felt really sick for days. It felt like I was gonna throw up but I didn’t I went home. At that time

Even though I broke and dislocated my arm, to this day, I find this memory to be humorous. I find it funny because I didn’t feel any type of pain until I looked at my arm and quickly starting panicking which followed by crying. I always wondered why I put my hands straight down with my palms facing the ground as if that was going to cushion my…

As I opened my eyes, I was instantly confused and scared. I didn’t know where I was or what I was doing on the surprisingly comfortable floor. I was laying on my stomach, but when I tried to move I couldn’t find myself to listen to my brain. Then soon I realized that, with my face pressed against the thin black ground, that I was on a trampoline.…

It couldn’t have been past 10 a.m. when the alarm went off. We all knew what it meant- we were firefighters, it’s what we do. The fire chief told us that an apartment complex in downtown Boston had gone ablaze, and that it was really bad. We quickly got into our uniforms and hopped on as the fire truck left the station. We were a few miles away before I saw the smoke, a dark giant against the bright blue sky.…

I come from a family of seven with me being the fourth out of five kids. I was always the shy kid in school, so I did not stand out in my classes as much as the other kids. The only thing that set me apart from my classmates and siblings was my grades. Getting straight A’s practically my entire life had made me the go-to person for homework help. Throughout middle school and high school, my younger sister would always get sick with migraines.…

The sun was shining, there was a slight breeze, I could hear the leaves rustling on the ground. It was the perfect day out today and anyone could tell. I close my eyes and just listen to the beautiful sounds of nature, wondering what all the birds were saying. Sometimes I think like that, just wondering the unknowable, I guess that’s something about me not many people know. I can hear soft footsteps but I don’t open my eyes, only shift my mouth into a small smirk.…

The school felt cold, disappointment filled the air. As I walked down the littered hallways, I found the principal’s office as I walked in a certain odour filled the room the type you would find in a second hand store. An assistant greeted I myself and told I myself to go down the hall and turn right to meet the principal and so I did. As I walked into the room, I noticed a family photo the sadness I felt sadness took over my body; it was a Mum, a Dad and a daughter. I was at hoI myself, on the old leather couch as I sat there I heard soI myself seagulls flying outside.…

I woke up to the sound of my mom bellowing my name from downstairs. I had no idea what I had done this time. I sprung out of bed and trudged out the door. “When using this formula in modern arithmetic…”, The sluggish slur of the teacher’s monotone voice tirelessly instructed the students on their task at hand. My head pounded like a punching bag, continuously being struck at. The opaque, frosted windows made it difficult to divert my attention from the agonizing lecture. Past these windows, the delicate snowflakes fell peacefully until they met their end, welcoming destruction as if it was a friend of the past. The class in front of my eyes began to blur, eventually drifting into an endless, black surrounding.…
