I wear seven rings on my right hand. Each represents a story, something, or someone who influenced me in a way I never want to forget. These rings represent my past, but I know they will also decorate my future. Some of my most important circlets are on my index finger. That finger holds three rings total. One band has a wave pattern in the middle of it, within the waves were small onyx crystals, but those too have now faded to nothing more than a memory. Surrounding it are two plain silver bands, just buffed enough you can't see your reflection. They still however, shine brightly. We entered Carrara, there, on the small underpass was a mirror, shot by a gun, cracked, just like all my hopes that I would survive the year. We parked the car under an overshadowing steel construction beam, and got out onto the slim marble sidewalk. We walked what I now know is a block and a half to the apartment I was staying in for the next twelve months. The big, wooden, antique door loomed at least 3 times my size above me. The signora unlocked it, and it began to squeak, and make the noises only heard from mechanics moving something very heavy. We stepped inside. From there out it was pretty simple. For the next hour or two I had to put my stuff away. I was led to my bedroom, the bed had a headboard checkered in a way that reminded me of a classic picnic blanket. There was a glass table, three drawers and a small side boxy looking thing with two by two cubbies that served as a nightstand. Opening the once lonely door, there was a hallway that seemed to have just rejoiced with a once depriven necessity. As striking as the first rose in spring, her silky, soft, shiny hair combined with her enticingly exquisite eyes produced a sublime look; it instantly ejected any pressure in the room. Her presence would’ve even made an angry person hopeful. Withered by time, the plethora of thin liable cracks scattered across the olive-dyed floors and indigo walls with an antique circular pattern ; this house was old enough to live in a pangea . This was my new home now, for however long it might be. It took every ounce of courage I have saved up over my 13 years to ring the doorbell. The police car that brought me here had already driven off, leaving me alone in the dark. It was a dark gloomy night, rain drips slowly down my window as I awake in the hospital bed. I didn’t know how or why I was there, I tried calling the nurse. My most valuable possession was my house. It wasn’t anything fancy or exquisite, but it was there that I had spent the precious moments, however few, with my beloved dad. I remember that we would spend hours playing, running around the arched, brightly lit corridors. On either side, I recall the large mahogany doors which would fluidly open to reveal ancient, chestnut-brown rooms with antique, twin bed frames which were confined within. I will never forget the uncanny gargoyles that were suspended onto the wall behind, the very same monsters who would assault my sleep and curse me with countless numbers of sleepless nights.…
