It was about 1am and I was anything but tired. School had just ended a few days earlier, and I was only hours away from my first summer vacation. I was excited to spend the weekend with my best friend, Eleise, who lives six hours away up in Michigan. I was excited to see my favorite singer, Taylor Swift, live for the third time. I was excited to get out of Illinois and go back to a place that used to be so familiar to me, but now it’s just a place from the past. My bag was packed days before we were leaving. I couldn’t wait for the long, exciting drive to Michigan. I really enjoy long car rides. Just watching the scenery change from place to place is interesting to me. The more I thought about how awesome my weekend was going to be, the more …show more content…
We got our shirts and glow wand things. Shawn Mendes was singing when we took our seats. I knew every word and it was a great start to an amazing night. Twenty minutes later Shawn Mendes finished and we were left waiting anxiously for Taylor to come out. It was 6:40 so we still and about twenty more minutes. A million years later, the lights dimmed and Taylor’s voice filled the stadium. Eleise gave me her I-can’t-believe-this-is-really-happening-looks. Screams so loud they could make your ears bleed filled the whole place. The glow wands were shining throughout the entire place, and everyone in the stadium was singing along to the song! It was amazing! I sand my heart out to every song and danced with Eleise. I held onto every word Taylor spoke like it was the last word I’ll ever hear. The three hours ended way too soon and the lights came on. My ears were ringing from the loud screams and music but it was all worth …show more content…
Although my ear were ringing, the rain was loud enough to be heard from hundred of miles away. Water filled the streets up to everyone’s ankles. Unless some friendly stranger gave us an umbrella, we were going to get soaking wet. No one did so we all ran at the count of three. “One. Two. Three!” I sprinted through the rain not exactly sure where I was going. My shoes were soaked. My hair was ruined. My clothes were sopping wet. I didn’t care at all though. Eleise and I sprinted, danced, and leaped through the ran not caring what anyone thought. We reached the car and all piled in. We were all soaking wet and very uncomfortable. As my mom was digging the keys out of her purse she raised up an umbrella. One that was with her the entire time! We all laughed at my mom for forgetting it was in there. We were all too tired and happy to be mad or care that she had it the whole time. Tonight was definitely the best night ever. I went back home early the next day. My first summer vacation had just come to an end. Throughout the weekend I learned many valuable things like don’t put the room key next to your phone. The most important thing I learned is that not all things that go wrong are really actually bad. Although our clothes got soaking wet and our shoes were ruined, we decided to dance in the rain and have a great time instead of let it ruin the amazing night we just had. It showed me that even though my best friend lives six hours

It was hot and it got exhausting. The sun was glaring down at us and we had to keep directing traffic in the hot sun and at that time I was really regretting going to the show. It felt like I was just standing there pointing in one direction, walking back and forth in the hot sun. I remembered we were doing this for the community which was important to the Blue Angels because they needed help with the traffic because there was a lot of people coming so I thought it was an important contribution. They finally brought us some water and food which was great because we were all thirsty and hungry from standing in the heat almost all…

One Friday, in September I decided to go up to Neff’s Canyon to look at the fall colors. It had lightly rained the night before so the colors where especially bright and pretty. That morning I couldn’t think of anything besides the day that laid ahead. Although I was excited I still dreaded leaving the comfort of my warm bed. After I realized it was already 10:20, I shot out of bed and scurried to the shower so I wouldn’t be late. It might’ve been the fastest shower i’d ever taken. Breakfast was the last thing on my mind, even though I knew that I should eat.…

Faith is the belief in something greater than us one can put full trust, confidence, and reliance on when difficult times arise. I sat there in the hard seat of my desk and waited patiently. The scent of Lysol was overwhelmingly powerful in the room, but I knew by the third week it would be overpowered by the smell of musty children and chalk dust. I could not wait for my new teacher to saunter up to me, eyes full of admiration, and give me my paper. I had worked hard on it for nearly two months during the summer prior to this new school year. Looking around the room at my new classmates, it was easy to tell who had done the summer assignments, especially with their conspicuous faces.…
