If I had only known that evening when I went to my brother’s basketball game. I didn’t know at that time what was going to happen. If someone could have just stopped me, I wouldn’t have gotten injured.

It was another Saturday afternoon in Draper, Utah, it was snowing quite hard, it often snowed quite hard here. We had just gotten out of school for winter break the day before. Just an hour ago, I had won my basketball game, I was really happy because it had been our first win.
I lay relaxed on my basement couch watching the projector as it flickered with light, all the colors in the rainbow, I had always wondered how people made such cool technology. My shoes were laying on the ground with the Vans lettering facing toward me.

“Ok I will come.” I finished my chicken gulping it down with some juice and green beans then I ran and got my shoes on very quickly, they were in my locker. My mom told me that the game was at the school right next to us only 3 houses away. I decided to ask my mom “can I ride on my scooter to the school” “Yes of course you can” she said. I went into the garage where all the bikes and scooters were stored and I grabbed my colorful blue one with the handle bars raised about ¾ of the way up. It had blue handle bars that were made out of a sponge like material were spaced out about a foot. Then I grabbed the scooter and move out of the garage yelling “three, two, one, blast off.” I came speeding down the driveway and took a sharp left turn to the sidewalk as i launched my foot on the concrete slab and I came chugging down the sidewalk as I could feel the cracks in the sidewalk, ba dum, ba dum as I was rolling along. I looked back and saw my mom pulling a wagon that my little sister was in and my brother in his basketball jersey riding his scooter slowly just beside the blue wonderful wagon. Then I crossed the road and went down a path to the school. There was a sudden blast of wind and I became glad that I had wore my …show more content…
Then a player on the other team fouled a player on ours so a kid got two free throws and made the points. The score was now 52-54 when the coach had just called a timeout. There were nine seconds left. Then the home team started with the ball, that is Braden’s team. Braden got passed the ball and went down the court, now there was six seconds left. Now Braden had the ball and was being double teamed so he couldn’t pass to the intended shooter so Braden had to take the shot. He was behind the three point line. He got his stance and shot, suddenly everyone and everything seemed really slow. The ball was in the air when the buzzer went off for the end of the game. It soared through the air like a bird. Then it hit the backboard with a “boom” and then went in the hoop. Everyone cheered because they had won the game. “ Braden, Braden, Braden!” everyone chanted as the lifted him up. He had just gotten a buzzer beater game

Also, I dreamt, as any little girl would, of how breathtaking it would be to be the person who won the game for a state championship title.…
