I never thought I could visit some place so breath taking and so remarkably beautiful like Galveston. A place filled with many things to do and, gorgeous sites to see. To tell you the truth, I really don’t get out much but, when opportunity knocks at my door, I’m always willing to answer. Currently I am living in Marshall so; the idea of taking a break and visiting Galveston excited me. Completely overlooking the five hour drive, getting there wasn’t so bad. I actually found it quite charming. I was able to visit towns and, see new things that were fascinating. As I got closer and closer to Galveston I could feel my body filling up with excitement. It was a feeling that could barely keep me in my seat. I had a smile on my face that …show more content…
I was so eager to get there. It was an experience that I had been longing for a while. I still couldn’t believe that I was there. As I reached the shoreline I could feel the rays of the sun slowly burning my back. I could smell the salt in the air. I could see the waves pushing the water back and forth. It was a site that is now engraved in my mind. It’s now something I can’t forget because it felt so right being there. As my feet touched the sand my toes began to crinkle. The warmness of the sand relaxed my feet. As I slowly kept walking toward the water I watched my footprints stay behind. The sun was now in my face, but at the moment I didn’t care. The only thing I had on my mind was to get in the water. As my feet left the sand, I started to feel the coolness of the water in between my toes. I had finally made it. It was a dream come true. Snowglobe I was practically born on the river with a yellow sun hat flopped over my eyes and ten delicate fingers tucked around straps to keep myself secure, not sure whether to laugh or cry at the waves pounding the front seat of my father’s raft where I played co-pilot. The river has always been a part of my life but several years ago I got to go on my first Grand Canyon river trip. This trip gave me a new perspective of the world. There was an excitement that surrounded a Grand trip different from any ordinary river trip. Whether it was the mystery of a trip that young children weren’t allowed to go on, the feeling of seniority over my peers because I was finally old enough and skilled enough to go, or the anticipation of whitewater that exaggerated stories had been told about year after year, the Grand was something special, even before I went.…

Traveling to Louisiana to go to the golden nugget was a small family vacation type trip but condensed down to small amount of time. Being able to leave the state and return all in a matter of 7 hours doesn’t seem like a lot of fun would happen. It surprises you how much you are able to do there when you're not able to gamble. The few hours before we traveled over to Louisiana; me, my cousin (same age), and younger cousin were deciding if we should go or not.…

Float on With the wind calm and the lake reminding me of glass, I cast out, hoping for once I would catch something that was a little more marvelous than a bloody catfish. I had the sun shining down on me, allowing my reflection to be seen in the water. The day was absolutely stunning, with the sun beating down on me sitting on that dock. The smell of gasoline from the boats and the sound of geese and ducks all around. Seeing the clear water glisten and the movement of the fish beneath me made sitting out there so calm.…
