All of that side of the family was there. Every one of my cousins and my brother and sister were jumping off of a cliff ointo the water. I was mortified byof the thought of jumping into the water from that height. Everyone called me chicken for not jumping. The thought of being more chicken than my big brother, who is, by the way 15 seconds older than me, made me so furious. I decided that I would show them who’s chicken by jumping off of the cliff. I pulled myself onto the edge where the grass and water met. I struggled to lunge myself onto the first open foot -space that was high up. The thought of jumping off of the cliff was horrible, but being called chicken was way worse than that. S so I did not stop. I kept climbing miles up what …show more content…
It felt as if it was about to come bursting out of me. I stood there with a blank stare, breathing hard as if I had just ran a marathon. It wasn’t that I was tired from climbing the cliff, it was simply the thought of, oh I don’t know, possibly, JUMPING OFF OF A CLIFF! Just considering it made me want to throw up. At that moment I realized, almost every one up there was starring at me. So at that awkward moment I carefully walked over in the back of the line. Next thing I know people started jumping again. A sigh of relief came out of my dry mouth. I did not sigh of boredom, I sighed at the relief of all the attention being drawn off of me and back to the water. The line was moving very fast, to fast for me to anticipate. Before I knew it I was next in line to jump. With my sister behind me and my brother behind her, I stood there helplessly. My sister told me to go or else, and if she says something like that she means business. I decided not to mess with her and go. So I counted to three aloud. “One.., two…, three!” I ran full speed as if there was nothing in my way. Then suddenly right as I approach the edge I see a huge rock under me. I put the brakes on fast and stop literally two inches away from the edge and stepped

Ever since I was little I have been very adventurous and open-minded to trying new things. I was always excited to have the opportunity to make new memories that would last a lifetime. I went to Sixflags Over Texas quite a bit as a child, since it was only thirty minutes from my house. Every time I made my way toward the Superman I would stop and admire the people on the ride known as Dive Bomber Alley. A ride that slowly brings you up to a one hundred and fifty foot arch before it drops you with nothing but the sky to catch your fall.…

I was nearing the top of the cliff, take a step up the ladder, move the two carabiner clips, repeat, repeat, repeat. My hands were shaking and I was sweating way too profusely for a rather cool 64° afternoon despite climbing the cliff. “You sure this is safe?” I asked my guide knowing the rungs were drilled a foot or more into solid stone. He said that I was safe about ten times already and I believed him, so why was I still so scared?…

‘Twas the Saturday before Easter and all through the house all the creatures were buzzing, even the mouse. We were preparing to go on a hike up to an awesome waterfall on Mount Graham in Arizona and everyone was so excited. We were all packing our lunches and making sure we had enough sunscreen. The next thing I knew we were driving off in our assorted trucks and jeeps. When we finally got up the mountain, the journey was hard.…

I knew something was horribly wrong when I woke up on a lemon shaped inner-tube in a sea of squishy macaroni and cheese. Ever since I was little, the smell, texture, and pretty much everything about macaroni and cheese disgusted me. Cheese was meant to be sprinkled on top of noodles, not engulf them. Looking around at the yellow encrusted rocks and the velveeta cheese waterfalls, I felt like I was living a real life nightmare. Just over the ledge I could see what appeared to be a giant drop off.…

We were pulling into the boat dock after a long day of fishing, but someone was already there so we had to pull into the other side and wait. My dad went to go back the car down, and my mom, brother, and I were in charge of moving the boat to the other side. My mom told us to push it away from the dock and start to guide it over to the right side. The next thing I knew the line went slack and we all began to look at each other because we knew what had just happened, the clip on the rope broke and the boat was now floating backwards into the middle of the lake.…

And when we got out we did what you’d usually expect kids to do at the beach, but then we were gonna see who could stay underwater the longest, and the whole time there were waves, they weren't strong waves or anything, but enough to move a bunch of little kids. And I knew that I’d win because I could hold my breath for a really long time, and so when we were underwater the waves pushed us and the waves ended up pushing me a few feet out further and while I was underwater I didn't even notice.…

Unfortunately for me, after meeting Arlene and her family, things went downhill quickly (that can be taken in so many ways). Arlene and her family were all skiers — they even skied in Austria.
