I am shaken vigorously out of a relaxing sleep like a ship being tossed on the ocean. Groggily, I open my eyes to see my dad standing over me in my messy room. He tells me “You need to get going Dax, it’s 3:00 a.m., you’re burning daylight.” I immediately ask the same question i ask every morning, “Why do we get up this early every morning dad?” He replies with his usual answer “Cause that’s the cowboy way son.” I get up reluctantly; Still sore from the day before, and begin looking for my clothes in the jumbled mess.
