On October 13th, I witnessed two family members I love dearly end a beautiful relationship. Early that morning there was a lady leaving my grandmothers that I have seen a few times with my uncle, so I didn’t think anything of it. I went on with my day caring for my grandmother. Around noon my uncle had arrived home, but my mind wondered; I thought he was already home his lady had just left. My grandmother and I spoke to him as he was walking pass, he stated he had a long night at work. He went in to shower, i asked my granny, “if he was at work why was she here?” she stated I mind my own business. While outside with her we over heard my uncle and cousin shouting, I was asked to go inside to see what was happening. I hesitated, but did as I …show more content…
My uncle then shouted “you know what you were doing both of you”! I heard my cousin yell as I entered the room, my uncle shouted at me like never before it brought tears out. I ran outside to let my grandmother know they were fighting, she stated call your brother over. I made the call, entered the house to try to defuse the situation, that wasn’t a good ideal but I couldn’t let my grandmother go inside to try it. I ended up with a sprung wrist. My brother made it and brought one of my other brothers, I came out crying, they ran in, and so much shouting was going on. Ten minutes later they were all coming out the door, still arguing. My grandmother stood with tears in her eyes and stated “never in my life have I seen my children fight like this, and under my roof “I grabbed her and hugged her even though I was in pain. My uncle came over to us and said he was sorry, we hugged. He turned to my cousin and said not over a woman I apologize but my cousin walked away. My grandmother yelled as she cried come back here and and show me the respect im gonna have. He returned, she then stated “she doesn’t ever want to see this again, you are family and family we will

Settled down by my cousins, enjoying the cool Kansas breeze, laughing, joking, and relaxing. Mom’s outside with Aunt Grace talking about God knows what while the kids were laughing in the living room. I remember talking to my cousin Ronald about what we should do outside to either ride our bikes, walk around the neighborhood, play tag, just do something active since we were young with enthusiasm and optimism about what else is out there in life for children to do in their spare time. Something just egged me on to go check Mom outside, as I got up from the couch , I noticed two men, standing outside, dressed in camouflage with such a stern mask covering their face. All of a sudden Mom begins to worry, but at the time I was as confused as to why Mom would have such a feeling of concern.…

One of my earliest memories comes from when I was only two years old. Because my dad is a basketball coach, he wanted to make sure he instilled a love for basketball in me. One way he thought he could do that was by taking me to basketball open gym at the high school where he works. One evening I was running up and down the side of the court; grabbing a basketball, taking it back to my seat, and then doing it all over again, when the guys asked my dad to play with them because they needed one more player. My dad thought I would be okay by myself for a while because I had been doing a good job at staying away from the players, so he decided to join the game.…
