All my life I’ve struggled with not feeling fulfilled in Loveland, Colorado. I never feel truly inspired, motivated, or happy. Driving down 29th street for what feels like the 29th time that day, I look at the McDonald’s I’ve ate at since childhood, I watch all the less than intereging Honda Civics and Ford Tauruses everyone in Northern Colorado seems to drive, and I look at the drab Loveland High School building and I’m reminded of how much I hate everything it holds. Everything I see, I feel like I’ve seen it before…

I moved there when I was sixteen, with my mother, my father, and our crusty old fat cat. My mother was a taller woman, thin- almost unhealthily so, so that her clothes hung off of her a bit.…

The day started off early, with a crisp breeze touching my pure, uncovered skin. I detected a hint of warmth that wisped around and hugged me tightly as the sun twirled higher into the cloudless sky. I was meeting up with a couple of friends to explore the seaside. Meredith, Ashley and I were so thrilled to finally go on one last enormous adventure together. We were in the spring break of our senior year and were all heading straight to our colleges when summer started to settle into our new homes.…

“When using this formula in modern arithmetic…”, The sluggish slur of the teacher’s monotone voice tirelessly instructed the students on their task at hand. My head pounded like a punching bag, continuously being struck at. The opaque, frosted windows made it difficult to divert my attention from the agonizing lecture. Past these windows, the delicate snowflakes fell peacefully until they met their end, welcoming destruction as if it was a friend of the past. The class in front of my eyes began to blur, eventually drifting into an endless, black surrounding.…
