The day started off early, with a crisp breeze touching my pure, uncovered skin. I detected a hint of warmth that wisped around and hugged me tightly as the sun twirled higher into the cloudless sky. I was meeting up with a couple of friends to explore the seaside. Meredith, Ashley and I were so thrilled to finally go on one last enormous adventure together. We were in the spring break of our senior year and were all heading straight to our colleges when summer started to settle into our new homes. As our sea adventure started, we could tell winter was slipping into spring, and became ecstatic because we could finally be in our favorite place without the tender, yet biting touch of winter lingering in the air. Dainty snowflakes dusted my shoulders as I darted across the open courtyard. Yawning from a hard day’s work, I quietly knocked on the studio door. It was difficult to maintain a sense of urgency as the warmth radiating from the windows promised me rest. It reminded me of the day I had met him.…

The canyons this morning were miraculously beautiful. As I exited my tent, I made some eggs over the bunsen burner. The wood was wet and cold, and wouldn't light, due to the rain the previous night. We packed our belongings getting ready for the nature walk we would have today. I laced up my jet black, and pearly white tennis shoes, then walked over to the nature lodge to meet our trip advisor.…

“And I feel like I haven’t had you in so long.” It had been a few weeks since they had touched on another, but she and Maxen were about to rectify that. It was the day before the Summer Swim, a party that occurred a fortnight after Calan Mai. Minus the knights left behind in the castle and village for security, everyone flocked to the beach for a dip in the water. Though still brutally cold, a splash in the sea was thought to bring about the warmth of summer and faster and make it last longer.…

It was a gloomy day. I was at our Subdivision’s Local Beach getting ready to swim out to the raft with my four friends. The “raft” as we called it was the bottom end of a Pontoon Boat anchored in the center of Dollar Lake. Occasionally the rain and winds blew it. When my friends arrived we dove into the shallow end of the beach and acquainted our bodies with the cold, late Summer temperature.…

Waves crashed over rocks tall enough to pierce the sky as we reached the shore in the dinghy. I stepped into the crystal clear water and saw a plethora of seagulls around the rocky hills. “I’ll pick you up here in about 2 hours,” our charter captain called as he drove away, “Enjoy the Baths!” We started our trek to the beach, my mom and dad leading and my sister Emily and I trailing behind. As we reached the beach Emily grabbed my hand and pulled me ahead to see the beach.…

During April of 2015, I stepped out of the car and onto the beach for the first time in Destin, Florida; the salty sea stung my nose as I breathed in a refreshing breath of briny air. The first step onto the sand was like a bed of blankets; soft and comfortable. The way the white sand glided onto my feet and squished between my toes felt like heaven. The waves were singing a delicate lullaby, pulling me closer to them. As I walk towards the ocean with the warm sand beneath my feet, the cold waves lap at my ankles, as if they want to take me away.…

Brynn was swimming, and April was trying to splash Iris, who was sitting near the beach. I was 23 before I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder. As far back as Elementary school I knew that there was something “off” in the way that I processed information. That my ability to do well academically was somehow hindered by not having certain tools that I needed, tools I wasn’t even aware existed. In high school, I began to augment my deficits with strengths. Where my grades were lacking I made up for it through creativity; I excelled at art and photography.…
