Gee… Just What I Wanted
It had been almost five days now, and I still didn’t know where my parents were. But at age 3, I didn’t let that get me down. I was having mac and cheese, and an absolute favorite of mine, and Alex was having chicken. I was just about to dig in when we hear a loud screeeeeeeee-ch! I looked up at Alex in absolute confusion, a bit of mac sliding down my chin, with a puzzled look on my face. Alex looked ecstatic. A sleek, black car had pulled into our driveway. Naturally, this confused me, because this wasn’t either of my parent’s cars. My parent’s never used our driveway anyways. You can imagine my surprise when two people climbed out of that car. I had a vague memory of them, but just couldn’t place them. It was a short woman with short grey hair and an Asian face. The man was much taller. He was almost as tall as daddy! His hair was more of a white color than the women’s, and it was cut down to like a quarter of an inch. The man helped the lady out of the car, and they walked up the path. I remember thinking how strange it was that they had left a car door open, but I was so focused on them, I didn’t think about why. Alex saw them too now, and got up and opened the door for them. Once they walked in the door and Alex saw the confused look on my face, she said to

As I played my latest video games, sitting in my favorite bean bag chair, on a seemingly flawless day until I heard the holler of my Mother proclaiming that I needed to leave the house to accomplish something rewarding. Being the gracious child, that I indeed was. I departed hastily, just as most children would; if their mother grabbed them by the ear and flung them out the front door. I dusted myself off, grabbed my bike, and rode over to my friend Tom’s house to hang out. When I arrived, I had discovered that he had a babysitter watching after him.…
