Imagine a cool, crisp, January morning waking up at my best friend’s house, I found myself tired. Knowing the events I would face today I would have needed a lot more energy than I had. Regretting that I’d stayed up all night, I got a shower then continued to get warm clothes on. As my dad pulled up my friend, Sydney, and I jumped in the car.
Heading to the skating rink in Hohenwald, I was excited. Taking selfies with Sydney, as we arrived. Pulling into the parking lot, my car was ambushed by a few of our friends. Walking in, I noticed a sign that read, “WARNING: Skate At Your Own Risk!” Giving the lady my tickets I got my skates and laced up!
Now it was time, time for the birthday party. Carefully skating into a side room, we sat down. Everyone

I sit nervously on the X-ray table. Where I am then told to lie down. Mrs. Leigh Ann, the lady who helps my mom do my X-rays, moves my ankle into different positions. After my X-rays were taken I waited patiently for the results. The X-rays showed that my Tibia, Fibula, and my Growth Plate of my right ankle were broken into a spiral fracture. All these random thoughts go through my mind as I wait for a hospital bed to be rolled in, were I am then moved onto. They roll me to the E.R. I hear the nurse tell my parents, “The ambulance has just been sent to Nashville, instead of waiting several hours, it would be best for you to take her by personal vehicle.” All I remember from the car ride was waking up at the hospital were they took me out of the car and inside onto a bed. Everything was kind of blur from then on from the medicine they had given me through an I.V. They then begin to run a different I.V. I remember being asked several times to rate my pain on a scale of 1-10, most of the time it was 8-10. That night I didn’t get much sleep at all. As I lay there with little pain, being told to try and move my splinted ankle little as possible, I was

Our lives are consumed with challenges and in most cases the result is pain. The worst type of pain is realizing that in the blink of a moment your dream has become unreachable. We heard a swoosh and a creak as the wicked wind pushed and pulled the vulnerable cart. I felt my warm blood sink from my frozen face and my back began to stick to my tight fitted coat. I looked up at the rest of the ski carts which were moving in sync, following each other into oblivion.…

On the windy lukewarm night of October 13, 2012, my life changed in a positive way. That day was the day I got my first dog, a female Shih Tzu, and I remember that day vividly. It all started as soon as I woke up with crazy bed hair, and I had a feeling that something would happen. After I woke up, I got dressed, had a nutritious breakfast, and went off to school. That Wednesday was a very stressful day due to the many things I had to do, which were to write an essay for English, a group history project, and a new lesson in Algebra 1.…

I was afraid. Standing on the moist morning field, I look up at the sky, a big white blanket covers all I could reach to see. The finals had arrived, and I, with trembling legs, took my place on the field, ready to commence. A shiver surges through my body, the thought of letting down the team, the thought of letting down the coach, the thought of failing.…

It was a cold windy day in late November. It was a typical winter day in Rhode Island. The sky was blue, but the air had a chill to it and you could almost smell the snow arriving. My friends and I stood in a circle lightly bouncing trying to use each others body heat to keep ourselves warm. It has always been our tradition to get to an arena at least an hour before a concert starts and wait for the doors to open.…

Growing up near the creek with my family and a old couple living right next to us was a memorable stage in my life, i’ll never forget it. They were never creepy or mysterious, they were just very odd. We all knew they were obviously hiding something in there barn. Me and my siblings always wanted to go over there, because Mr. Martin was always in there, walking from the barn to the house , so we wanted to see the animals.
