Personal Narrative: High School Musical Movies

Great Essays
I was a jerk back in Junior High. I was home schooled so I wasn 't used to socializing outside of the family. I decided to use the "High School Musical" movies as my guide. I know, the stupidity of a 14-year-old girl is amazing! Anyway, back in 8th grade that began changing.
The change started in a small windowless room. The air was stale and reeked of cheap perfume. Most of the class was relaxing, chatting with each other near the door and waiting for the bell to ring for lunch. However, on the other side of the room, there was a fight brewing. Zac Wakamatsu, and I were bickering. We’d been at it all class period, and neither of us were willing to let up.
"You two fight like an old married couple," Mr. Burton floored us. His words stopped us in our tracks.

“What’s wrong?” she asked, instantly seeing I wasn’t myself.
I sighed in exasperation before responding. “History class just really sucked today.”
“Why? What happened?” Jessica inquired quizzically.
“Oh, you won 't believe this.” I filled Jessica in on every little detail.
She was practically falling out of her chair with laughter the whole time I was talking. Seeing her laugh helped ease my tension. It made Mr. Burton 's comment less of a serious matter, and more of a big joke. The whole situation WAS pretty funny and I realized I’d have laughed my head off if it had happened to someone else. I’d probably even have joined in on the teasing. Maybe real life wasn 't like "High School Musical." What a novel idea?
But this wasn’t someone else. I looked up, catching a glance at Zac from across the room. This was me and the demon spawn!
“Well, you 're the perfect fit!” Jessica choked out between her convulsions of laughter, bringing my attention back to our table.
“What, not you too?” I moaned in disgust, shaking my head and putting it in my hands.
“We’ll that’s what happens in all the movies.” Jessica shrugged, still fighting to hold a straight

Growing up I was always the tallest kid in the class. Whenever class picture day rolled around, I knew that I was in the front of the line because of my height. It was somewhat embarrassing when all the boys were shorter than I, and the girls made me feel bad for how out of place I was. Not only did my height provide social awkwardness, it also administered the constant, never ending struggle of finding garments long enough. Whenever my mom or grandmothers wanted to take me back to school shopping, I made excuses of “I don’t need any more habiliments” or “I do not feel good, all of the sudden…”…
