In high school I had a friend who I believed always had my back. For months we were best friends until one day I discovered that she was using our relationship for her own gain. This event hurt my future relationships and made it hard for me to reach out to others. Brown had a perception of the people around him being holy and full of piety. Because of these relationships he found it easier to trust others. When he met the old man in the forest, he talked to him even though he did not know who this old man was.
