We went to visit The Yard for an event, where the workers come together and figure out the solutions for the problems they have while working. At the event I learned so much in one day I got the chance to talk to the workers one on one. Clarabeth Maire Grainer laid in her bed unable to sleep, she stared at the white ceiling above her as she thought to herself. She eventually closed her eyes and fell asleep, the next thing she knew her alarm was screaming at her with loud beeping. She woke up with a sigh knowing that school started in an hour. She got out of her warm bed and got dressed in an army green sweater, gray jeans, and pulled on some brown boots. She walked out of her room and into the bathroom.…

When I first arrived at the scene I noticed that the gun was in Mr. Peacock’s hand, and a gun was missing from the wall. I also noticed the carpet that was rolled up nicely. He was lying next to the carpet, wearing an apron, with blood pooling from his head, and his glasses were sitting there unbroken. The door was only able to be locked from the inside, and the house wasn’t vandalized at all.…

Perhaps some of you have heard of me. My husband, James J. Braddock, became the number one heavyweight champion in the world just a few days ago in a fight against Max Baer. I consider myself and my family to be extremely lucky and I can only give my thanks to those that supported my husband. To my knowledge, Jimmy is now being referred to as the “Cinderella Man” because of his amazing recovery.…

The first Broadway musical I enjoyed was Disney's Beauty and the Beast. I was about thirteen years old. It was more elaborate than the small performances at Disney World. There was more music, elaborate set designs, and more seats in theater. I was very impressed by the singing and actors ability to flow through the material.…

Southern Writing Project It was a cool summer's evening in the small town of HanksVille, Alabama. Ma and Pa were sitting on the front porch listening to the crickets chirp. I was in the kitchen making a sandwich, while my little sister Amanda was sitting on the couch watching this show she seems to really like called "Full Metal Alchemist. " I guess it was a sad show because she got all teary eyed when a guy named Maes Hughes died and I showed his coffin. " When I asked her why she was crying when it wasn’t real, she said "watch the whole series and you'll see why.…

    • I could just as easily have said, "a subject I had some knowledge in", or, "a subject I had some knowledge of". I suppose the main thing I've noticed is, thinking whether you are talking in the present or the past tense, for example as you have said, "on the final of the sentences", we would tend to say, "on the end of sentences", or, "on the end of the sentence". So we don't just make plural by putting an 's' on the end of the word, we also add a 'the' in front of the singular. You are making me think with this, you will note that as you are learning English, you are looking into it technically and more precisely than you did when you were learning Spanish as a child, then you learned as you were going along, just listening to other people, now you're looking at books that explain what to say, so I'm trying to remember what I did 43 years ago and more.…

My parents instilled in me a love for country music from a very early age. I can recall the songs of Shania Twain, Faith Hill, and Deana Carter playing through the house all of the time when I was little. December of 2010 I went to my first concert (Carrie Underwood), got my first guitar, and started to write my own songs. I aspire to write and perform music for a living, to travel across the nation and maybe even the world inspiring people and making them feel something through music. My motivation comes from three sources: the love of music, my family, and my home state of South Dakota.…
