Personal Narrative-Y/F's On The Trail

Improved Essays
This morning you had found a small piece of ripped paper with the message ‘come find me’ with a Y/F/F on top of it. Parrish had left it for you to find once you woke up, knowing that you these kinds of finding games, especially when there may be a prize involved…

As you begin to find more and more Y/F/F’s on the trail to what you assume to be him, you began to wonder what he’s up to this time.

You were walking down the street that the flowers led to and something else had caught your eye. A piece of paper, much similar to the one you had found today was taped to a park bench.

“Getting closer, gorgeous…"You read the message that was written on it. But, there was something else that caught your attention. He had drawn 3 squiggly lines underneath

Maybe he’s hinting at his whereabouts? The beach? That’s the only thing you could come up with at the moment and as you continued to add more flowers to the bunch in your hand, the trail seemed to be leading towards the beach.

The strong scent of salt started to consume the air around you as you stepped onto the sand, out looking the crashing waves. The flowers Parrish left weren’t metres apart anymore, there were now only inches apart.

You quickly took your socks and shoes off as you love to feel the sand under your feet and tucked them under your arm, following the flowers until coming to a halt in front of a question that was carved out in the sand. You read the question in complete shock and happiness, dropping the flowers and your shoes, too taken aback to even realise the very special person behind you.

“You found me…” Parrish’s voice came behind you, making you turn around to face him, his hand out for you to take it. You placed a shaking hand onto his and before you could say a word, Parrish began to speak

The Crevasse “Adversity is the source of our deepest growth and greatest blessings; embrace it, dare to seek It,” that was a quote from Aron Ralston, who fell down a crevasse and his arm was wedged under a rock, which inspired the movie “127 Hours.” One day I was going to the creek with my friends, Matthew and Kendal, to hang out. We had this amazing spot that had a bridge that we made and everything. We were bringing further supplies to add on to the spot and make it look more visually appealing. When we arrived at the park we brought all of the supplies down under a bridge.…

I was over ecstatic when Fernando, (also known as Fernie) my best guy friend asked me to go on a walking adventure with him in our hometown of Kelseyville, California. We started off the day by walking in the forest alongside of Kelsey Creek. This forest has a really big meaning to Fernie and I, because we both love nature in every aspect and these walking adventures are not uncommon to us. Starting on the path we both got lost in our own thoughts, I got distracted by looking above me at the the canopy the tree branches created. My eyes followed the patterns the sunlight was creating as it broke through the leaves and cascaded onto the uneven forest floor.…

The airplane was crowded and unbearable. As if being confined tightly with a bunch of strangers wasn’t enough, I’m extremely motion-sick. After many hours of travelling, my family and I finally arrived in the Dominican Republic; our luxurious home for the next seven days.…

During April of 2015, I stepped out of the car and onto the beach for the first time in Destin, Florida; the salty sea stung my nose as I breathed in a refreshing breath of briny air. The first step onto the sand was like a bed of blankets; soft and comfortable. The way the white sand glided onto my feet and squished between my toes felt like heaven. The waves were singing a delicate lullaby, pulling me closer to them. As I walk towards the ocean with the warm sand beneath my feet, the cold waves lap at my ankles, as if they want to take me away.…

Before the storm, the shore was a graceful arc of sand, glittering under the summer sun, a place for a serene ocean to lap. A fleeting flurry of sand waves rolled in with a soothing swish. Every few steps lay a shell, a treasure of the aquatic world just out of reach. The small, wet pebbles that lined the beach sparkled in the bright light of the day. I reached down to pick one up, running my finger over its smooth surface.…

The sun light shown through the leaves of the forest onto the trail, the dirt on the forest floor was damp from the last days rain, roots of the trees raised from the grown like long bony fingers, the bushes that lined the trail were bright green, filled with green insects and thornes. The sound of the lake and dam grew louder as we approached the start of the trail. Holes in the middle of the trail forced us to take an alternate route into the forest. The bamboo was closely packed together making it hard to get through. After sliding in the mud and struggling to get the bikes through the stalks, we had reached the trail.…

“No…...dad” I whimpered as I gazed at the fin encircling him as he treaded water in the Gulf of Mexico. I looked at his sad hazel eyes as he whispered goodbye to me silently. My feet were standing on the hot grainy southern sand of Florida. The blue cloudless sunny sky was painted over us as the sun shimmered on the water as the break of noon began. The corner of my teal blue eyes were stinging with tears as the cool water’s washed up on my sandy feet.…
