I worked with George Pejovic from Transit Wireless. The company is based in New York and was formed specifically to meet the Metropolitan Transit Authority’s (MTA) requirement to provide a shared wireless infrastructure to enable commercial wireless services for the New York City Transit Authority (NYCT) riders within the underground subway stations and related opportunities. Transit Wireless I am an intern there, but I do not work directly with Mr. Pejovic. He takes on more tasks and operations in his role as the head network operations team. I asked to work directly with him for week instead of just doing normal intern work and during the week I work directly with him I gained a lot. Pejovic, I learned the daily tasks needed to run a network operations team. He needs to keep track of his team members each day to make they hit all of the company deadlines throughout the week to help the company move along. Transit Wireless was only started in 2005 and since then the company has continued to grow, so each day presents a new challenge as head of the network operations team. I learned how to properly run a company team. Running a team of employees is different from anything else. It reminded me of playing baseball in high school. I was captain of my baseball team and I had to make sure that I led by example and completed all goals I set for myself. Having that experience made me realize how similar being head of any team or captain requires leadership experience. You must show to your team that the things you are preaching to them aren’t just for them, but things that you follow as well. I learned that leading by example on any team or head of any computing team is the most important thing in order to have a successful team or company. I also gained more knowledge about networking. As head of network operations, you need to know everything that is going on with the networks they have set up all around New York. I learned how to properly track each network in each borough on New York. When a network has any issues, I learned the sets that are needed to be taken to make sure that the issues do not keep occurring over
