Personal Narrative: Working With Elida

Improved Essays
Working with Elida seems to not improve but steadily getting worse. I had an issue with working with Elida today, so I asked if I can change my buddy. When I spoke to Evelyn she brought me into carmen's office where we discussed it in her office. Evelyn, Carmen, Elida and I came up with a plan on how we can work together. The plan was for me to do everything and if I had any issues or concerns I can always ask her. So we all agreed. But I didn't like the way common with I mean that I wasn't opening up my mind to learning. I told her that I was open to learning. That I can't learn if she isn't properly showing me rather than doing everything and not explaining what she is doing.

In the second incident Elida and I was sitting with a patient

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…

When I grow up, I want to change the world! Changing the world one day would make me feel really good. Three ways I would change the world are: make sure everyone has a shelter to live in; help more lost, sick, and hurt animals, and make sure no one is hungry. I would like to help homeless people have a nice place to stay. When I’m driving downtown I see a lot of homeless people on the streets; dirty, and sad.…

My experience with the after school book club at Madison Elementary today was an exciting yet my patience was tested by a seven year old little boy named Jose. Today I was excited to see if my group would enjoy the book, “Where the Wild Things Are,” due to the fact everyone agreed they enjoy reading adventure books. Consequently, one of my group members, Jose, had already read the book and watched the movie and let the whole group know it was “boring.” Already bored he instantly lost interest in the book and the group and was making it known by distracting the other group members around him. Usually his partner in crime, Gilbert, agrees with him and goes along with him but this time was different and he ignored his friend because he was actually…

My native language was English, but I also learned to speak Cantonese around the same time I learned to speak English.…

Coming to Carleton in September I thought I had a decent grasp on general business know how and how business worked, but after taking this course I have learned how little I knew, and how much there was for me to learn. So far in the course I would say I have learned a ridiculous amount, from business language to the skills you need to have a successful interview. In this memo, I will be covering a number of lessons I have learned, and these fall into three categories. The first being what I learned from the course, mostly what I learned in lectures and doing Learnsmart questions. These lessons have been predominantly the knowledge I have acquired through the professor and the textbook.…

At a younger age, I would say I believed that I can only trust myself and my mother, this is because as a little kid my mom would always tell me that there are bad people in the world and that giving them any information about anything can be very harmful. But as I grew up and realized what was actually happening in my country I knew there were millions of others that were suffering against the “bad people” and we could only do something about it if the whole community came together to help. It was at that time when I was about 25, when I started to put some effort into trying to establish more just conditions within my country especially after the implication of extremely high food prices. This is when I started my first strike involving my…

The other student, Joel, is also a seven year old boy who has been identified as being developmentally delayed. I have lost track of people who told me how difficult nursing school would be. There were not many reasons proving that I would succeed, but stepping forward in faith, I knew I have a good God who wanted to show me I could trust Him. Within the first month of college, I had flunked tests in two of my science classes. I felt discouraged, and thought I needed to change majors. During my advising meeting, Professor Gramatky instilled such confidence in me and told me these classes did not define me.…
