Personal Narrative: Working At The RV Resort Worker

Improved Essays
The 12th was coming up soon, we talked about it and decided to see if Scott could work as the camp host for 15 hours a week for a free site. After we inquired, we received a knock on the door. One of the RV Resort workers (Natalie) came to ask if I would work in the office, as they already had a replacement for Lee (the previous camp hose who had to leave) but they needed office personnel. After taking the day to think about it (they wanted some until March or January 31st) we decided we will stay until January 31st with the possibility of staying until March, depending on how it goes.
I went to the office the next day and informed them that we could stay until the 31st of January with the possibility of staying longer, depending on how we feel

There was a Thanksgiving potluck, and Scott prepared the ham and I made Pistachio Coquito (Pistachio (Spanish) eggnog) and regular Coquito, Pecan Pie, and Coconut Custard Pie.
A word of advice! If you are looking to make food in your RV make sure you start in advance, it takes a bit longer than usual using the tools (oven, stove, convection oven) you must work with. For example, I finally bought a muffin pan (yes I was ecstatic) and made spice cake muffins. Since I did not have a recipe I had to look one up on the internet. I obtained two recipes, coffee cake and spice cake. The coffee cake recipe I obtained from Damn Delicious and the spice cake recipe I obtained from Taste of Home, which is as follows:
Spice Cake Recipe
Total Time: Prep: 40 min. Bake: 20 min. + cooling
Makes: 14 servings
These moist, spicy cupcakes with creamy caramel frosting are a delicious treat. The recipe has been in my family for years. When I was growing up, it seemed these cupcakes were always in the freezer, just waiting to be snitched one at a time! —Carla Hodenfield, Ray, North Dakota

When I was younger on my twelfth birthday I had been given two options that I would receive as a present. My mother would either take me to Six Flags or she would buy me a mini motorcycle. This was a difficult decision because, although I never been to Six Flags I’ve always wanted a motorcycle. I had asked for a motorcycle the year before but, she said no because it was too dangerous. Still until this day I wonder why she allowed me to get one a year later.…

You probably have this one on your list or have seen and/or heard of it - filling different shapes of bottles with different colors of sand. The reason I mention it is because I worked with 3 guys that each did it, individually that is, at fairs and festivals.…

I have always been interested in learning and using new ideas. Throughout my life, I have invariably drawn from my life experiences, newly learned ideas and my continuing education to help problem-solve sensibly and realistically allowing me to move forward or help others reach their goals. Although I have no formal teaching experience, in my past work and involvement in organized sports, I have repeatedly used the Progressive philosophy. When dealing with 13 & 14 year olds many situations arise such as bullying, personality clashes or simply not understanding a drill or play. I deal with these situations by asking questions to stimulate a discussion, allowing them to draw on past experiences; positive or negative, consequently allowing them to come up with a solution or grasp the knowledge they are seeking.…

Ellis Island I walked noislessly through the market, listening to the nearly silent whispers that were surrounding me. The daily conversations of the Polish citizens still consisted of the New World, even though Ellis Island has been accepting immigrants for over 62 years. It seems like an amazing place. A place where the streets are paved with gold, and poverty was a word that simply wasn't in the Americans vocabulary. Ellis Island was the “Isle of Hope,” and it was every person's dream to start off a new life there.…

Two thousand five hundred eighty-seven. I could take an eight-hour flight or a casual thirty-seven-hour drive, but no matter what, I am still two thousand five hundred eighty-seven miles away from my home in New Haven, Connecticut. Being a college freshman, trying to juggle class, homework, projects, studying, sleeping, eating, and athletics; finding the travel time to go home is an almost impossible task. Add in the cost of the $600 flights round trip and there is no chance a student can go visit home when they feel a little homesick. I on the other hand had never even fathomed being homesick from the frozen tundra I called home.…
