Now entering his senior year, he’s worked his way up in the company while not only creating deals, but gaining the respect of his peers because of his hard work ethic and dedication he’s portrayed. Watching him grow over the past years has been extremely eye opening. Now as I, too, enter my senior year of high school, I frequently have thoughts of, “What would Gibson do?” or “How would Gibson handle this?”.

Although those seven things have taught me a wealth of information, the one not on paper; the eighth, that taught me the most – exactly how much he wants to see me achieve greatness. I strive to be like Gibson because of the immense determination he has for life. Not many people are fortunate enough to say they have a mentor, let alone a big brother, who takes the time to teach the essential skills for life, but I am proud to say I have Gibson for that, which is exactly why he’s placed first on my “Most Significant Person”

Over the years and years spent on studying mythology, Joseph Campbell came up with the concept of The Hero’s Journey. The Hero’s Journey states that all hero’s travel in a similar path and go through many similar stages that’ll lead them to their reward. However, not every hero’s journey has to involve obstacles as in slaying a dragon or trying to save the world. In my case, I had to do nothing but trying to make it through sixth grade year. Sadly, sixth grade was the year that I faced the most challenges, real world challenges at least.…

There was a point in my life not so long ago when I struggled to separate an actor from the role he played. In fact, I can remember intimating to my mother that I didn't like the character "Will" in Cedar Cove, and I wasn't sure if I liked the actor who played him either. In fact, when I found out that Will figured into the plot more principally in season three, I was a bit disgruntled at first. However, the reviewer within me compelled me to watch season three with an open mind. And I will admit once I made the decision that Cameron Bancroft was merely a masterful actor portraying the role, I realized what an adept actor he is.…

Argument Essay The idea that a person can overcome a situation of adversity to succeed in their lives has long been ingrained in American Society. It is the basis for the longstanding cultural phenomenon known as the American Dream and manifests itself in the idolization of many American heroes. Take, for example, President Andrew Jackson. Although he was violent, terrifying, and one of the least popular presidents thus far, he is still recognized as one of the ‘Great Presidents’ and forever enshrined in the five-dollar bill.…

In childhood and early adulthood, there are plenty of people willing to share their advice about nearly everything in a youth’s life. Yet, it is somewhat rare to find an individual who not only offers their advice when it is applicable, but also exemplifies an upstanding citizen not only of their community, but also of humanity. I was fortunate enough to meet someone matching that description. His name is Scott Woodhouse, and he is my debate coach. I’ll forever be glad that, largely by chance, he was my advisory teacher, and was able to provide an example of devotion, thoughtfulness, and morality.…

Leadership Interview I recently had the opportunity of interviewing Mr. Maity who has more than ten years of experience in leadership positions within his organization. He started his career after grad school with a small non-profit research organization. His leadership abilities were quickly realized and he became a part of a large company as a Project Manager. He recalls that in his first job, the small size of the company and the nature of operations meant that soon after joining the firm, he started taking up multiple responsibilities with many being outside of his core functional role. This valuable learning experience has allowed him to excel in his current leadership position.…
