Personal Narrative-Why Is It Broken?

Improved Essays
We all walked out of the Saint Mary's hospital, and all I could think is,Why is it broken?

We were at Awana, our church group at the end of the day game time and we were playing basketball. There was a fast break (when someone has a breakaway towards the basket) and my brother ran up and poked the ball out of Aiden’s hand the best 5th grade player there. His teammates yelled “GO Ben GO Ben!” “your amazing!”(he being a 4th grader). He was really excited about beating Aiden(he’s a 5th grader) he didn’t pay attention to where the Orange M.C. basketball was.None of us were.No waning. No heads up.He just stepped forward on the ball fall backwards onto his right leg.We watched him fall buckle his ankle and collapsed on his leg. His scream was as bad

When people act obnoxious and disrespectful, I would just like to go up to them and say “I was at about six there. Don’t make me go to ten”, a quote said by Dale in Step Brothers. My pet peeves involve the disrespectful actions of high school students. It really irks me when people in band just don’t play their music correctly or march properly. If we have been practicing the same song for a short amount of time, then I understand if most don’t pick up the notes right away.…

I refrain from making hasty decisions, a trait that’s made it easier to manage time and keep my life organized. It’s not that I don’t enjoy some spontaneity, just that I’ve had experience with faulty planning. I like to consider as many details and possible outcomes of a situation before making a decision; in fact, I believe it’s my best characteristic. Thinking things through allows me to make sound, satisfying choices in both my academic and social life. It is a practice that has saved me from careless mistakes on math tests and kept my activities.…

I appreciate receiving constructive feedback, since this criticism is valuable for me improving from my mistakes. Recently, I had been a leader of a group with whom I had worked on developing a new soda brand, for our entry in the Coca Cola sponsored, World Series of Innovation Competition. Being leader of this team, I encouraged my team to be open and give me their best suggestions. In this process I received positive criticism for my approach in leadership, feedback that I can apply to become a better leader. My group informed me that I took too much initiative to complete the unfinished tasks of some participants, rather than encouraging them to do this work themselves.…

I never intended to be an illegal smuggler. Seriously. But when four-year-old me found out that preschool had "naptimes" (in which apparently nobody napped, making it a waste of time to me), I decided to take matters into my own hands, with drastic measures. The next day, my top-secret contraband came in with me, in the form of a book. At 1:30, while everyone else did whatever preschoolers do during naptime, the book snuck out of its carefully concealed hiding place and I disappeared into its pages.…

Christian elaborated that the pass means nothing compared to what he saw in me, a person with great character who will never stop trying. Who doesn’t struggle with writing? I know I always have struggled with writing, for the longest time I didn’t even really understand the differences in sentences, and it is something that’s still confuses me a little bit. To be completely honest I sometimes procrastinate longer than I should when it comes to writing, so I don’t always review the finished product the way I should. Life gets in the way occasionally, and I attempt to convince myself that I have plenty of time to finish they assignment. This particularly gave me problems in high school.…

During the Fall I had a terribly low confidence level, as it was only my first year as a dance minor after neglecting outside lessons for almost five years. I was uncertain regarding the combinations, as well as my technique, but tried not to too rely heavily on the more experienced dancers (though I did rely heavily on the barre). I would not perform the moves to the extent of my abilities, for example not fully developing my leg or heightening my rélevé, because I was uncertain that it was correct. However, my low confidence level was someone deserved, as I had little technique training to base my movements off of. I seemed to make many minor mistakes due to shifting my hips and collapsing my back and neck in port des bras, not maintaining support and strength in my core, and allowing my supporting leg to rotate inward, as my turnout was also not as strong as it could have been.…

A Turning Point Many events occur during a person’s lifetime, some heal the soul and others leave an unpleasant scar. Either way, by time, all of those events come together to give that person a memorable experience that will not be forgotten. I have faced many terrific circumstances, some of which gave me good memories and some gave me terrible experiences. However, the most remarkable event in my life was an exceptional one, one that made me realize that no matter how bad things get, there will always be something better.…
