Every year, my church, Word of Life, hosts a Kids Camp for three days. It takes a lot of preparation to set everything up. The purpose of the camp is for kids to grow spiritually and get to know more about God. I grew up going to these camps. Becoming a teacher or mentor to kids is something that I’ve always wanted to do. That’s why in the year 2016, I volunteered.
After many meetings and a lot of waiting, camp finally came. I had my chance to give back to the church. It was a great time that included a lot of bonding and learning. At 10:00 at night , all the teachers and helpers went to a meeting to talk about the day. One helper per classroom stayed back just to watch the kids. Even after being up for the whole day taking care of kids all of the time, the teachers and helpers were not completely tired. The teachers and helpers are a group of fifteen to eighteen years old. After the meeting, my classroom’s other helper, Christina, and I checked up on our kids and got to know them a lot better. All that our girls really wanted to do was hear stories.
