Personal Narrative: Why I Love Basketball

Decent Essays
A lot of people, such as my friends like very diverse sports. I love to play three different sports that I would usually play all the time. I love football, hockey, and most of all I adulate and will always love basketball. I play football and hockey with my friends at school all the time when I am at my second period, which is P.E. The only sport that I only practice for and play on a team for would me basketball.
Basketball has been a something that I relish playing every single time I play. I started playing basketball when I was at the age of ten and since then, I valued the sport. In elementary school, at the second grade I always went to after care with my friends and most of the time we would be playing basketball. At first I wasn’t a colossal fan of basketball, but when I learned to play I had so much fun with it. On top of that I had friends to play along with and that just made playing basketball a blast.

All other sports such as baseball, hockey, football, and soccer are very slug paced. In my opinion, I honestly don’t like to really play slow paced sports. I still play football, baseball, soccer, and hockey at P.E just to learn how to play the sport, not to make it a thing I would love to do over basketball. No other sport compares to and is faster than basketball in my opinion.
Believe it or not I honestly was never really into basketball until second grade. After that year I asked my parents if I could play basketball in a league playing against other players that played and I eventually did. After a year of playing, I finally knew exactly how to play and what the sport’s rules were and what it was all about. I have been playing basketball for five years and haven’t stopped since then because of my love for the sport. I have been having the most gratifying time playing basketball than playing video games, or any other sport since

Or someone who has never seen a drive threw would think it’s weird to have people have food handed out the window. As we think other cultures are weird we have to look at the fact that our culture is weird to others People that have never seen basketball would thing it is a bunch of people running around with a ball.…

I remember him trying to get up and get to me, but a few adults that had witnessed the accident had told him to lay down.…

Doing the same thing every day can become a grind and the brain has an amazing tendency to become uninterested or bored. That is why, in today’s world, when I see or hear about kids specializing in a sport at an early age I question the thought process behind it. What are the benefits? Does this really help in the long run? All of these questions lead me to one conclusion: Children should not specialize in one sport so early in their lives.…
