Finally, once it was my turn, my stomach was practically in knots and I felt like air was being taken from my lungs. Of course me, being my awkward self, I could barely teach the task the instructor had given me. I kept stuttering, and saying ‘Um’, and creating awkward silence.…

I believe in my life right now that I am in the stage of Personal Faith. The reason I believe I am in this stage is because I’ve had times where I doubt my faith and question certain beliefs. I believe I am in the Personal Stage of faith is because I no longer follow a crowd, I am comfortable in my own skin, my own beliefs, and actions. I have removed myself from the influence of others and groups. In my Personal Faith stage I also have become independent and take responsibility of my personal beliefs and actions.…

Thus, as one inspects their beliefs and choices they make, they will ultimately reach the question of religion, and how, if at all, to practice a religion. Personally, I believe that the decision on whether one should practice a religion or not lies entirely within their own consideration. Religion is a big impact upon one’s life, and it ultimately provides the guiding light to a person in the definitive times of their life. Many religions seek to answer the questions that society cannot. This explains why in Greco-Roman times they had gods for the sun and moon, because society could not explain the process of the sun rising.…

These performances are a great opportunity for students to share a narrative about a significant life event. I am planning on doing a story about what happened while I was volunteering in Keokee, Virginia. While volunteering I came across a puppy who was in very bad shape and needed immediate medical care. This was a situation where I realized not only did I care dearly about the people I was trying to help but also this dog who had found itself in a very unfortunate situation. This was a significant event which led me to realize that when I truly care about something I am not willing to give up on it.…

Believing is Power My parents have played a powerful role in my upbringing. They taught me right from wrong, how to be the person I am, and how to treat other people, but one of the most important lessons they taught me was how to believe in myself. As a child, I was always told I could be whatever I wanted to be when I was an adult. Mom and Dad would make sure I knew that if I wanted to be a police officer or a doctor, I could be a police officer or a doctor.…

Most everyone that has ever lived has had some form of faith that they fall back on when they have doubts, or when they seek answers to questions that they may not be able to solve otherwise, and I am no different. I was raised in a pseudo-catholic household and I attended a catholic private school up until I went to high school. While most would expect this to shape me to some extent in a religious manner, that is not the case. I could never claim that that specific establishment had no effect on my outcome as an individual, but it did shape me in ways that were unexpected. Instead of imparting religious lessons they gave me solid moral groundwork, and instead of bible studies they gave me access to knowledge that I doubt I would have received…
