It was the rockwall. Wreathed in hand holds, and in that moment I felt I was falling from each.
After an effective persuading from the gym teacher, I took a final look at the rockwall, before I readied myself on the navy blue mat. After I strapping myself into tight to the harness and miserly finding the first holds, and I began to climb. My hands latching as my

As we made it to the backdoor we found an old, rusty ladder, that was used instead of stairs. We were hesitant to walk up the ladder at first, with rungs being in the shape that they were. Carl and Tom convinced me nothing bad was going to happen, and so I slowly crept up the ladder, at a snails pace, until I reached the…

After watching some gameplay videos for the new ps4 game Until Dawn, I was reminded of a strange term I had once heard, the butterfly effect. Upon seeing this, I decided to do some research to find out more about it. The Chaos theory more commonly called the butterfly effect summarized by Edward Lorenz is a branch of mathematics that deals with complex systems whose behaviour is highly sensitive to slight changes in conditions, so that small alterations can give rise to strikingly great consequences. With this, I thought a many life decisions that I had made, both large and small and thought of how they affected my life and how different my life would be if I had chosen to take another path. I am a Christian and with further thought, came to…

I refrain from making hasty decisions, a trait that’s made it easier to manage time and keep my life organized. It’s not that I don’t enjoy some spontaneity, just that I’ve had experience with faulty planning. I like to consider as many details and possible outcomes of a situation before making a decision; in fact, I believe it’s my best characteristic. Thinking things through allows me to make sound, satisfying choices in both my academic and social life. It is a practice that has saved me from careless mistakes on math tests and kept my activities.…

My heart sank as I jumped off the platform, afraid of hitting the wilderness below. The rope caught me, and I was gliding through the air. On that seemingly average day, I approached the fourteen stair that had once seemed so daunting and thought to myself “Screw it!” I walked back to the same spot where the man I admired once stood and readied for a gruesome battle. And a gruesome battle it was. After the first fall, I felt more relieved than in pain. The second was another failure but I was sure the next attempt would yield success.…

Often time we would climb the tallest tree, harvest the tastiest fruit, and fall with minor injury. But, the worst is yet come, one night we decided to climb over the 6 feet tall steel black painted fences that was between us and the forbidden area of the county office building. As we hopped off the top of the fences, while in midair, a breeze of wind carrying the autumn leaves hit us as we hit the dusty concrete floor knee first, like a superhero.…

As we arrived, all you could see in the cove were boats lined up and tied together, people jumping from 30 feet into the water below, and the sound of people laughing and having a good time. We tied our jet skis to the side of my grandparent’s boat, took off our life vests, and jumped into the water. As we swam to the edge of the cliffs, I remember the sound of the waves crashing against them from people jumping and boats coming and going. Once we climbed out of the water and made our way up the steep cliff, I remember thinking, “I hope I don’t slip and fall”. Surprisingly, as clumsy as I am, we made it to the top with no problem.…
