Personal Narrative: Whisker

Improved Essays
I have an extraordinary cat named Whisker. Whisker is not an average cat. She weighs considerably more than the average 14-pound cat, has manicured paws, and from the tip of her nose to the end of her tail she has orange striped fur with a tint of brown on her left front leg. She irritates me quite often around breakfast time by nudging my leg with her head. This is how I know that she wants to be fed. Her food of choice is the chicken flavored 9 Lives' cat food. On the other hand, I don't have a choice but to eat a bowl of unsweetened oatmeal, because that's all I can find in the pantry. I have attempted to serve her some other brand of chicken flavored cat food, but she won't even get near it. I believe that she is a very finicky eater. I …show more content…
Most pets are extremely lucky because they don't have to work a regular nine to five job with the exception of a few, such as a guard dog, police dog, or a service animal. Whisker heard the front door open and she rushed towards the door. She meowed happily and brushed up against my parent's legs as they entered the house. I greeted my parents by giving them a hug and they asking them how their day was. I told them that my day was great because I got to spend some quality time with Whisker. They also asked Whisker how her day was, as if she was able to speak in English, but she responded with just a meow. My parents assumed that the "meow" meant that she had a good day. Pets depend on humans to provide what they need such as food, lodging, and love. My dad walked into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator door and removed approximately 7 bite sized cubes of cheddar cheese to eat. Whiskers once again ran up to my dad and hastily jumped up onto the table and knocked a few cubes of cheese out of my dad's hands with her nose and they landed on the floor. I can't do that because it's my parents food and I respect them. Whiskers jumped down to the floor and gobbled up those few cubes of cheese in one

She hid the cat inside of a basket away from Bailey. Another moment of irony states, “She didn’t intend for the cat to be left alone in the house for three days because he would miss her too much and she was afraid he might brush against one of the gas burners and accidentally asphyxiate himself.” Ironically, the grandmother thought the cat would not be safe at home. Consequently, the grandmother’s manipulation caused their vacation to end when Pitty Sing unexpectedly clinched onto Bailey’s shoulder causing him to lose control of the…

I was 23 before I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder. As far back as Elementary school I knew that there was something “off” in the way that I processed information. That my ability to do well academically was somehow hindered by not having certain tools that I needed, tools I wasn’t even aware existed. In high school, I began to augment my deficits with strengths. Where my grades were lacking I made up for it through creativity; I excelled at art and photography.…

My experience with the after school book club at Madison Elementary today was an exciting yet my patience was tested by a seven year old little boy named Jose. Today I was excited to see if my group would enjoy the book, “Where the Wild Things Are,” due to the fact everyone agreed they enjoy reading adventure books. Consequently, one of my group members, Jose, had already read the book and watched the movie and let the whole group know it was “boring.” Already bored he instantly lost interest in the book and the group and was making it known by distracting the other group members around him. Usually his partner in crime, Gilbert, agrees with him and goes along with him but this time was different and he ignored his friend because he was actually…

In third grade, a boy named Blake - a notorious troublemaker - would chase every girl during class trying to kiss her on the lips. Most of the girls gave in eventually. It was easier to give in than to keep running. When it was my day to be chased, I turned to him, grabbed his glasses off his pudgy face, and stomped on them in front of all the kids on the blacktop. He ran to the principal's office and cried.…
