I have went through many dilemmas, but to me personally, I feel as if my biggest dilemma wa figuring out where to go to high school. It is the first step in figuring out how the rest of your life will be or planned out. To me high school is very important, the classes you take are important and the things you learn are important. For me, it was where to go to high school at. Whether or not to stay in my hometown or move out somewhere was the main thing I had to figure out. Of course me being very young and not understanding all the networking and connections to make with people and different relations with people, that was not thought out, but now if I knew now what I did back then, things would probably be different. I feel as the person that I was taught and raised to be, I can make the best out of anything and always be successful no matter. Coming from a small town I see people everyday get caught up with negative energy and negative things. I have learned many things from many people like that, I just watch and try not to be like those people. When there is not much opportunity and things to do inside the community I guess that is when some people say, “there is nothing left for others to do, but find trouble”. Therefore I use school and sports as a way to keep me busy and to keep my mind else where other than negative things and making bad decisions. The transition from High School can often times be very frustrating for students. L. Lennie Irvin opened my eyes to one of the bad habits I picked up on in High school. The habit of straying from the topic or theme could cause me to fail not only papers in English but my other courses as well. I personally had a hard time with English my first semester of college. In High school I was always at the top of my class and my teachers would tell me how great of a writer I was.…

Before high school, I always thought I was an average student, but when I transitioned into high school, people started to point out that I had potential. I began to work harder than I had ever before and I began to accelerate in every course. This never took a toll on me till the tenth grade, when my mental health started degrading. Anxiety was my first foe. During the beginning of the tenth grade, I had set high expectations for myself and it began to affect my life greatly For instance, after finishing the test, I would think about just one specific question that I thought I completed wrong.…

The semester before my freshman year I applied to an early college high school; I knew that I was going to have more work than if I had went to the traditional high school, but I knew I could do it. At first I was doing well, but as time went on the work became more challenging and frequent eventually my grades fell and took my pride with it. I wanted to transfer to the traditional high school in my neighborhood, but changed my mind after a talk with one of my professors. She helped me to recognize that if I quit not only would I be throwing away the work that I did do, but I’d also be preventing myself from seeing what work I could do. I took that seed of information and turned it into a tree of motivation.…

"I doubt she will ever graduate high school" was a sentence expressed to my family members, it was regarding me. These discouraging words were spoken out of the mouth of my own father. While eavesdropping I overheard this statement when I was in my freshman year, and I believed him. The thought of not graduating replayed in my head throughout the majority of my high school career. For an extensive period of time, that statement prevented me from reaching my full potential.…

High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…

I was sixteen years old and on the verge of becoming just another high school dropout. My life had become overwhelmingly complicated due to an initial depression, which grew stronger as I gave up on much of what was important for me at the time. This downward spiral had to end. Finally, I withdrew from high school halfway through my sophomore year, but not before voluntarily choosing to attend a military school 600 miles away from home. A free program designed for dropouts and sponsored by the national guard, this was a place where I could recover all of my high school credits and set myself up for success.…
