I am from a town that had been frozen over from the rage and wrath of a sorcerer. We live on land completely surrounded by a wide river; which we needed in order to travel and fish. The green grass of summer withered and died to a dull brown color, before it was covered by a dusting of snow. It was fun at first, at least for the children in the town. We threw snowballs, played in the snow, and went sledding, in awe and thrilled at the early snow of this year. I asked my mother why it could possibly be a curse if it was so much fun. I am very small for my age, and often mistaken as younger. When I glance at myself in the mirror, I appear older now somehow; a harder expression to my face that I cannot explain. Mother said I lost my “baby fat” early, but I think it might be because I haven’t felt happy since the initial snowfall, and the reduction of food that we
