It’s never easy to open up to people who think that the world is easy and nothing is frightening when, for me, it’s the opposite. I am not ready to believe in this world when it gives me nothing but chaos in return.

I’m not ready to throw myself in the College Experience, but I’m eighteen and right now is what I’ve

After watching some gameplay videos for the new ps4 game Until Dawn, I was reminded of a strange term I had once heard, the butterfly effect. Upon seeing this, I decided to do some research to find out more about it. The Chaos theory more commonly called the butterfly effect summarized by Edward Lorenz is a branch of mathematics that deals with complex systems whose behaviour is highly sensitive to slight changes in conditions, so that small alterations can give rise to strikingly great consequences. With this, I thought a many life decisions that I had made, both large and small and thought of how they affected my life and how different my life would be if I had chosen to take another path. I am a Christian and with further thought, came to…

It’s crazy how I think that I haven't experienced the world yet. It’s like I’m living in my own little bubble, protected against the actual world and all of its dangers that come with it, yet I still know what's out there. The closer I get to graduation, the more the bubble begins to crack. There are so many expectations out there. All the looks and judgments piercing into my back because of my race.…

The pain began slowly, pricking me with its sharp needles only while doing barre in ballet once a week. I ignored it, believing it to be normal, common discomfort that would soon go away, typical thoughts of a dancer whose entire sport is centered around “good pain”. Six months later, it had escalated to the degree that every step I took felt like an arrow to my knee. Dancing had become impossible, and it was determined that I should be taken to the orthopedist. The bland, brown and beige lobby became extraordinarily familiar as I waited two hours to be examined.…

The social norm that I violated was singing out loud on a public place. Well I did not really get to sing loudly on a bus or train. I did however sing loudly while I was shopping in Wal-Mart. I thought it was the next best thing than singing on a bus or something. Since there are tons of people at Wal-Mart in the first place.…

The norm may not always be the right way to go. I no longer want to be a part of a popular or important group of people, if I feel that what the group is doing or believes in is wrong, even if it means I'm not a part of the norm. I am not afraid to stand out on my own. I have challenged this belief for many years. When I was in elementary school, I was bullied by a group of girls that I hung with, looked up to and idolized.…

When I was a teenager I worked in a donut shop. It so happened that the place was sold to a family and was not a corporately owned. In the hope of saving money, they decided to cut labor and asked the hostess’ to do all the cleaning, including the washrooms. The age I was at cleaning was not my cup of tea, therefore, I made it clear to the owners I will do everything else, but clean the washrooms, as I don’t even do that at home, and my mom wouldn’t even let me. The owner’s reply was, “you people should be used to that kind of work, what do you mean you can’t do it,” and a whole lot of other inappropriate things that I won’t get into.…

“The fear of falling apart”, “Words are knives and often leave scars”, and “Don’t try to sleep through the end of the world and bury me alive. Cause’ I won’t give up without a fight” by Panic! At The Disco from their song This is Gospel is very important to me because it’s like saying no matter how hard you push and pull on me I won’t give up and that’s really encouraging to me. The way I can apply it to my life is I was bullied, cursed at, and yelled at all throughout middle school by other students and no matter how hard I wanted to give up and just crawl into bed and say “No, go away.”…

A Turning Point Many events occur during a person’s lifetime, some heal the soul and others leave an unpleasant scar. Either way, by time, all of those events come together to give that person a memorable experience that will not be forgotten.
