The zombies were being killed left and right but where was Crane? No one could find him or where he was hiding. I decided I needed to clear my head, so I walked down to the lake. We called local authorities who then contacted the higher ranks. In a matter of minutes there was helicopters flying all around with men propelling down on ropes. They captured Crane and were gone in an instant. The news later that night was relieving. all the zombies had already been let loose. It was just a matter of time before they were all gone. Knowing that everyone was safe removed the burden that i had been carrying. Knowing that the government could solve even the biggest of problems helped me sleep at night. Knowing that i would be safe in an emergency let me know that I lived in the best country in the world. I was safe here. I knew I would never

From television to novels to haunted houses, these monsters have become an influence not only in the realms of fantasy but in reality. The intrigue for these monsters comes not from the scares they provide, but rather how they mirror the lives of people across the world. Through his essay, My Zombie, Myself, Chuck Klosterman is able to effectively utilize allusions, anecdotes, and figurative language while exploring how the image of the zombie is embedded into society in order to illustrate how the lives of people in reality is not that far from the lives of those in the midst of the…

Could you ever imagine waking up one day and everything was different? Not being able to be sprawled out in your perfectly good bed each morning, but waking up in various locations for protection. Having to carry some sort of weapon every time you go outside just in case you run into a pack of zombies looking for fresh flesh. This all seemed too much and it was only my first year at Missouri State. A zombie apocalypse was not something I expected from college, especially to be one of the few survivors’ left on campus.…

Since childhood, spiders to me have remained the blood curdling, bone-chilling creature, with the ability to paralyze almost everyone – from adult men to teenage girls – with fear. As a teenage girl, I seem to be the stereotypical, terrified victim of the spider. Flashback to my earlier teenage years, and I was not moving that spider. There was no way – it was not a job for me. I was determined to avoid contact and proximity at all costs, even if this meant evacuating the room.…
