Growing up, I have become wiser. I have been exposed to so much stupidity, that it ticks me off. There are many things in this world that happens to tick me off. There has been one that has really gotten out of control lately. It would be racism. Racism has been a major focal point of the news these past few months. It is culturally degrading, disrespectful, and stereotypical. Racism is culturally degrading. Being an African American, I am always told by other races I am beautiful for a ‘black girl’. This is one of my biggest pet peeves because beauty doesn’t define our skin color, hair, figure, etc. Beauty is defined within the soul. For instance, there is a stereotype going around that all teen Caucasian females drink Starbucks and drive an Altima. I have plenty of female Caucasian friends, not all of them like Starbucks and not every single one of them drive an Altima. In my opinion, this is being judgmental. Just because one Caucasian female does one thing doesn’t mean all of them do it. Another racial stereotype is saying all of us African Americans can’t swim and we all drink Kool-Aid. I object to this because I took swimming lessons as a child, I can swim. Also, my best friend, who is African American, hates Kool-Aid. Lastly, not all Asians are super geniuses. Making fun of other races is racism. I am sick of it and it is getting out of control. In conclusion, of course racism will forever be a problem in the world. Many factors come with racism whether it being culturally degrading, disrespectful, or stereotypical. I enjoy learning about cultures associated with races because it makes them unique and stand out. Making fun of other races because of their traits or the things certain people do among a race is unprofessional. All in all, racism ticks me
