I have taught many a person how to swim but a good friend of mine really needed to learn how to swim. At first I thought he should just pay for lessons but I decided I would just teach him myself. It would be fun; and fun it was. Teaching my friend, Ryan, how to swim required me to give him common knowledge as to how water works. Since water is composed of two lighter atoms to make a heavier yet still very light substance, I had to explain that water is just a heavier version of air that we can't actually breath without the help of electrical components or air tanks. After some thought, he finally decided to hop in. He splashed around and a minute later I hopped in to get him. Ryan's ego was hurt more than he was for sure. About a week later, I asked Ryan again if he wanted to get in again;he was reluctant but I finally coaxed him in, threatening to never allow him back in my treehouse ever again if he didn't know how to swim. This time, I told him to think about himself as a helicopter and the water as air. As weird as it sounds, the analogy actually worked. Since I am good at teaching people to stay calm and stick with it, you might also assume I am also good at first aid. I unfortunately cannot say the same. Since I am not very good at applying first aid, I believe I will find college to become very interesting, fun, difficult, and very helpful in life. Beings I am not very good at applying first
