IF I WERE ELECTED MAYOR

I would put policies in place to help stop the crime and hire more police to patrol high crime areas.
I would also help establish better laws for the state to help us improve on how we spend money to help poor people and provide better low-income housing and help unemployed people get better jobs. I would also help improve our local schools and their facilities. This includes a better library , cafeteria, bathroom, and provide better lunches from McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, and Little Caesars. Also I would help purchase better classrooms equipment such as desk and more technology, hire more teachers, and buy more computers. Progressivism is a variety of responses to the economic and social problems introduced to America during rapid industrialization. This movement took place between approximately 1900 and 1920. A group of writers, referred to as “muckrakers”, looked into these problems and voiced their concerns during the Progressive movement.…

My first plan of readjustment, if I were mayor, is that I would add more stores to the city. In the past the Mall of the Bluffs had had many stores, now there are not nearly as many stores as there was then. In the 1990s the rating for the Mall of the Bluffs was around five stars!…

After watching some gameplay videos for the new ps4 game Until Dawn, I was reminded of a strange term I had once heard, the butterfly effect. Upon seeing this, I decided to do some research to find out more about it. The Chaos theory more commonly called the butterfly effect summarized by Edward Lorenz is a branch of mathematics that deals with complex systems whose behaviour is highly sensitive to slight changes in conditions, so that small alterations can give rise to strikingly great consequences. With this, I thought a many life decisions that I had made, both large and small and thought of how they affected my life and how different my life would be if I had chosen to take another path. I am a Christian and with further thought, came to…

What do we still need to know about your vulnerable population and what programs address their needs? What programs and policies are needed? I would propose changes in the Fourth Amendment. The changes will be to protect from unreasonable searches and seizures on the inside and outside of the border. The reason is that there were thousands of cases where Homeland Security Agents would seize and search mobile devices right outside the border. Because the Fourth Amendment only protects people inside the border, the agents were free to search, copy, and record any information from the devices without explanation. If the government allows this to continue it will lose trust in the public.…

The Clinton reform never passed because it needed to have patient protection to protect patient’s privacy from getting out in the healthcare. There were two main differences. The first one is that Democrats had learned from the failure of Clinton plan and had adjusted their strategy so (Clinton, 1990s). The second one is that Obama benefited from a reform of consensus that had in some years leading up to 2009 and that had included some major interest in groups and Democratic Congressional leaders.…

A major concern I would tackle instantly would be human rights. Which is why i choose to give 600,000 dollars to human rights. By human rights I mean child labor, and women's rights, as well as the right of everyone else in the terms of freedom, and happiness. After all the Declaration of Independence says that we have unalienable rights that can not be taken away, these rights are the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. “ little change to relax; the air at times is dense with coal-dust, which penetrates so far into the passage of the lungs that… he leaves, still coughing up black coal dust” (Document B).…

The film Park Avenue provides a glimpse of how the rich become richer and how their actions effect individuals in a lower socioeconomic class. On one side of Park Avenue it houses some of the richest people in the world while on the other side of Park Avenue so many families are struggling daily to find employment. The top 1% continue to gain wealth by buying/rigging elections in their favor, covering up environmental mishaps, and cutting necessary welfare programs. This is important to social workers because it makes it more difficult for us to find resources for our clients. As a whole the rich dictates what goes on in society and that is not fair.…

When you hear something that is not quite right what are you supposed to do? For me this answer is very simple, say the right answer. If i am sure that i am correct on a matter i will put my foot down, i will argue my case until the opposing side submits and agrees with what i am thinking Although if i am not sure that i am one hundred percent correct i will not initiate the argument. With all of this i might not seem to headstrong but if someone believes i did something i did not do, well there is where the problem lies. I become one of the most stubborn people you could imagine.…

One thing that I would fight for is Civil Rights. I would fight for this cause because everyone deserves their freedom and also deserve their human rights because if people disrespect those right and go to far the are violating the civil rights of the people. For Example Back in the 1861 there was war for The Civil Rights Movement because people would get disrespected for their color or because of what they looked like. Later Century's past and there were laws that colored people and whites weren't allowed to be together. Also in the 1950's it was a discrimination time because colored people had less rights and fewer opportunities in life while the white people had the best education and the best of everything .…

An issue that we have within our community and schools would be gang violence. Gang violence is starting to become a big issue in our community. Gang violence is leading to massive shootings and wars between gangs. This violence is taking away the lives of babies, teens, pregnant moms, and even loved ones. Finally, on a macro level approach, there should be a stricter policy about releasing 911 calls that are available to the public. During these calls, some people may have just witnessed something terrible and are distraught, then the recording is released to the public and it may re-traumatize a person; or, potentially the listeners that have access to the audio, they may even become traumatized. Within society, I feel there needs to be more acceptances to people who have been traumatized or experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder. I believe there should be more funding towards mental health and facilities to improve the wellness of those who need additional assistance.…

Philadelphia is proud of the reputation of being “the city of brotherly love”, with the LOVE park and sign right in Center City. However, Philly has gained a reputation for something else in recent years that have brought this nickname into a question; this city has become an example of rising gun violence, with constant shootings and multiple deaths. Every day and night, people are shot and often even killed for various and sometimes mysterious reasons. The city of brotherly love is in desperate need of more control of armed weapons, because gun violence has led to an increase in violence and deaths, weapons are too easy to obtain, and the police are being rendered powerless to stop the rising shootings.
