The most important thing that I learned this summer was how important attendance is.
One thing that I have learned is to get my stuff done and not procrastinate. Unlike actual school I got my things done in the time that was given to me. During school I would procrastinate a lot especially during class, I could not stay concentrated and the last thing I ever wanted to do were the worksheets that were given to me. In my second period geometry class I would just write the assignment down but not actually get it down even if I had most of the class period to do it. Summer school has taught me how to use my time wisely and if I get my assignments done earlier then I have more

For example, the last place I wanted to be this summer is sitting in a classroom making up for all the things I didn’t do during school. Sometimes other things take up first, and I learned that this was summer school. I needed these credits in order to graduate next year. It has taught me that I need to work hard for the things that I really want. This summer I have learned that if I don’t want to sit in a classroom and write essays all day I need to work hard to keep my grades up in order to pass. In English summer school class I learned to pay more attention to the teacher and stay in my seat. I learned to take notes while the teacher is talking which later helps me when writing

What defines me is how I respond to these challenges.…

I was 10 years old. I looked from the edge of the mat, unaware about the endeavor I was about to take the moment my foot touched that mat. I finally decided to walk on, like they had taught me by bowing, it was the first of a near million times I was going to do this. I was a white belt, at the best taekwondo centers in the area. All the kids, stood to the side eerily silent, waiting for instructions.…

Intro One of the nice things about growing up in Canada was that I was exposed to multiple cultures at a very young age. This has given me the upper hand when meeting people of different cultures in the United States. I am very fortunate to have a best friend who is from Eastern Europe and has welcomed me into her home on many occasions for me to experience their cultures. Valerie, or Valeriya, Khaletskaya is one of my very close friends who grew up in a cultural completely different then my own. Her cultural background is Russian, and her family still celebrates and performs all the cultures holidays and traditions, so I thought she would be the perfect candidate for my Summer Interview.…

I remember when I was 5, the first time I went to a building daily for 8 hours. I sat down on the cold blue chair. In front of me was a bin of crayons, all the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple. I remember sitting in the cold room and having the freedom to draw marks on my blank sheet of paper. The dye scratching against the table, colors spreading across the canvas like the sun, rising in the early morning.…

I got to watch as they tried new things, explored the unfamiliar, and step out of the boxes they had been in. Those summers are some of the greatest memories I have. People throughout the world learn new things from day to day whether it is something big or something small. I learned three new things while I spent my time in summer school. Some of the things people learn can be good or bad depending on what it was and what kind of person you are. The three things I want to tell you about is that I can improve myself in anything if I give enough effort. Finishing school with no failing class is a good idea.…
