The first time, I enrolled in this class, I felt excited knowing this class would help on my grammar, so I can become a better writer. My first thought that cross my mind was this was going to be easy and it was. My last experienced with writing and English was okay because I mainly get a B or a C, but rarely I would get an A. I always been having trouble with grammars. My high school English teachers taught us about grammars and how to become a better writer. It was similar to what you had taught us in class because we always learned about grammar out of a book and we got tested after we been practice. Even after reading a book, we would write an essay about it. My past class helped me be prepare for college because they help us learn from our mistake and that college is hard, but we can improve. By the end of the semester, it seem that my grammar have gotten better, but also my writing because I had help from Tana in the tutorial center. …show more content…

The best quote I wrote would be, “I liked the feeling of the wind on my face and the warmth of the sun on my skin.” from the narrative essay because it show comparison between two things and I never use simile or metaphor in an essay before. “That is when Zits knew it was his father, and his family loves him,” is my weakness because of the use of present tense. My writing experience: I didn’t start to read until I was in first grade. Every week we would go to library to check-out two books and take a test on the books we read on a computer. Every day in English we read a short story to ourselves then we would play games dealing with the story to make it fun. To be honest I never really did a lot of writing in Elementary , Middle, or High school so I can’t pinpoint when I started writing. In essay writing I learned its always good to express yourself with your own opinion.…

The writing I composed in Mrs. Heningburg’s class was central to my development as a writer because it made me more confident in my writing and made me more aware of others reading my work as a writer. After hearing my last writing assignment's result in the class, I started expecting a high scoring on my writing works. The compliment about my essay from my sixth-grade teacher changed me, so let's start from the beginning.…

Writing about a whole tribe and describing them, would not have happened without the use of critical and analytical thinking. The weakest work I have written would have to be the first essay. It was the lowest grade wise and just full of mistakes. I could not take credit for how terrible it is by saying I have been out of school for almost two years and chalk it up to that, however; that is not what an adult does. With the outlook on the future of my writing career in college and in the professional word, critical and analytical ability will be at the top of the list, especially in the scientific field.…

I know I always have struggled with writing, for the longest time I didn’t even really understand the differences in sentences, and it is something that’s still confuses me a little bit. This past March, I was choosing my classes for my freshman year of high school. My mother and I were looking over the courses offered for first-year students at the high school, when we saw that all students are required to complete a writing course while they attended Bedford High School. There were three options for how I could attend the course. I could take the course; in school during the summer, in school during the school year, or online during the summer. After talking to current high school students and hearing a presentation from guidance counselors, I knew that I should take the class in the summer, so I could take an extra elective and not be stuck with as much homework during the school year.…

Throughout this course, writing took more than just writing about what you read. Here I learned to process all the information that needs to be processed and come up with some way to get it out on paper. With writing I have learned that vocabulary and grammar are two very affective sides to it. With grammar I have learned when to end a sentence. Working on grammar for my writing also allowed me to learn, when the time came for me to use punctuation and extend the sentence.…
