Personal Narrative: What I Learned In 7th Grade

Improved Essays
The moment that I discovered that science was one of my favorite things to learn about was when I was in 7th grade. The science that I learned in 7th grade was biology. Before 7th grade, I learned about other sciences such as chemistry, astronomy, physics, and geology. All those subjects didn’t grab my attention as much as biology because before I didn’t think they were interesting and I thought it hard to understand the concept of those sciences. However as I went through my high school career, I began to develop an interest in those sciences because I learned about them more in detailed. It was also during that time when I felt as if science defines who I am. Science is one of my favorite topic to talk and learn about. When 7th grade came

From my personal experience, when I was in elementary school I remember my teacher would let us sit on yoga ball it always helped me concentrate and it helped me when I was really active because I could not move around, it will make me fall if I move around. I like the idea of standing desks because I prefer standing a lot but when I need to I could sit down on the tool, but I could still move my legs around and be somewhat active. So if one day you're feeling antsy you can just stand. Also I think if your tired it could help you stay awake. Mark Benden also states that sitting desk can cause kids to be obese, he also says that too much sitting is bad for your health.…

My interest in physics was initially ignited during my sophomore year. I signed up for AP Physics 1, taught by a teacher in his first year, right out of college. His main goal was to encourage students to apply physics to the world around them and identify the relevancy of the course material. I was immediately hooked and I bought book after book about Einstein's Theory of Relativity, the Big Bang, and quantum mechanics. I was eager to learn as much as I could; in doing so, I realized that working in a laboratory setting, conducting experiments and applying equations, is something that I am truly passionate about.…

Notably, I have always loved anything science related, even when growing up I would study my mom's biomedical flash cards. No wonder why I have chosen to pursue a major in biology. Moreover, when you are a child you start transcending into what you are destined to be without even noticing it. Whilst becoming fascinated with science I wanted to solve the problem of poverty, building housing for the poor, providing a fresh supply of clothes, and guiding them to find jobs or better yet create jobs for them to do would be amazing. Getting accepted into Saint Leo University can guide me onto the pathway of success.…

I was 10 years old. I looked from the edge of the mat, unaware about the endeavor I was about to take the moment my foot touched that mat. I finally decided to walk on, like they had taught me by bowing, it was the first of a near million times I was going to do this. I was a white belt, at the best taekwondo centers in the area. All the kids, stood to the side eerily silent, waiting for instructions.…

High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…

In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

I remember when I was 5, the first time I went to a building daily for 8 hours. I sat down on the cold blue chair. In front of me was a bin of crayons, all the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple. I remember sitting in the cold room and having the freedom to draw marks on my blank sheet of paper. The dye scratching against the table, colors spreading across the canvas like the sun, rising in the early morning.…

For the first five years of elementary school, I attended the small school located at the back of our church’s property. Enrollment ranged from about 10-15 students in 1st through 8th grade. The last three years of my grade school experience were spent attending Lodi Seventh-day Adventist Elementary. This school went from kindergarten to 8th grade and fed into Lodi Academy, so in all, kindergarten through 12th grade! I came from a small, two-room school, and seeing as I was not very accustomed to being with such a large body of students, suddenly becoming immersed in a class with more students than that of my entire old school was definitely intriguing!…
