Personal Narrative: What I Believe

Decent Essays
When asked the question, “What do you believe,” I sit here and try to think about what I actually believe in. In my head I’m like, Well I believe in things like Jesus and God, always do your best, and treating people with respect, but those are all things most people believe in. I grew up being taught that this is what my family believes in, but this doesn’t really show what I believe in, it shows what I grew up learning. So what do I believe in? Other than the obvious believing in religion and being a good person? Well then I don’t really know, I’ve never thought about everything that I believe in. Let’s see; I like minding my own business, track is super important to me, being sarcastic is hilarious, I like making jokes in bad situations

This I Believe Essay Draft I was 9 years old and my little league team was in the city championship for the second year in a row. We came into the game feeling strong about our team, thinking that nobody could beat us. The first few innings were pretty stress free, a few mistakes here and there but nothing major had happened yet. I believe it was the 3 inning and the score was tied 1-1 when we pulled our starting pitcher out of the game and put in our star pitcher, Duncan. What happened next was unimaginable, they scored 3 runs in a row.…

My experiences over the last six years living in NYC have shaped me into the approachable and compassionate person I am today. I have been immersed in a melting pot with many different culturally and economically diverse populations. These unique experiences have broadened my horizons and allowed me to gain valuable communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. I searched out opportunities to give back and help the people in my community both in volunteering in hospitals, educating high school students, and interning in private practices. I even traveled with the organization Medlife, setting up a medical clinic to provide basic medical care and education to people in the poor and underserved communities surrounding Lima, Peru.…

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…
