Personal Narrative: What Has Led Me To Colorado Christian University

Why Colorado Christian University? What has brought me to Colorado Christian University? Growing up in a wonderful christian family is something for which I am eternally grateful. Dad was a Baptist pastor with a large family. Most of us kids had the privilege to attend Community Christian School. As you can imagine, religion was the dominate surrounding factor in our lives. Looking back, I can now see the reasoning and commitment my parents had to raising us this way. They carried out every-way they knew how as parents to ensure we would love God ourselves. Shortly after graduating from High School in 2010, rebellion took root. Life was suddenly pushing and pulling in several directions all at once. Living on my own turned into more like the …show more content…
When I let myself think about it, life was worth living with a higher purpose. Since then, I have moved back home to my fathers house; where I am now consciously grateful for the love, support, and safety of my family. My dad is willing to help pay for one year of Christian college. I am amazed that God still wants to use me, and am excited to continue in my own personal walk with the Lord. I have found a refocused faith, and for the first time I can honestly say it is my own faith. I am no longer just living life as a Christian who is "going through the motions". At Colorado Christian University, I believe I will be able to pursue the Bible knowledge I crave. I will be living out my faith, and also learning more about it. CCU would be a wonderful opportunity. I see it as an important experience in determining the next direction for my life. I can't wait to see what God wants to do with me. A couple years ago, I would not have thought of it, but here I am. God is great and has led me to this anticipation of studying at Colorado Christian University. When I came back to wanting to do whats right, God was right there

I chose to attend Wor-Wic Community College because of the support system that Wor-Wic has to offer. I applied to the school and attended it while I was injured with a traumatic knee injury and the staff really proved to me that they cared. I had surgery the first week of classes,so I emailed my teacher and they were all understanding and extremely helpful in accommodating to my needs. The late computer lab hours really helped me to be able to get my school work done after my night classes ended. Everywhere that I go I advocate for Wor-Wic because it is truly more than an institution, it is like another family to me.…

I started attending Lone star college right after high school, at first, I began with the typical high school graduate state of mind, which was that college was going to be a breeze and that it would all be fun and games; more worried about what was going on in my social life rather than studying the books. Especially since I had no real responsibilities to handle or much life experience. Around my first year of college, I started dating this girl and not long after we conceived our first son. Once this happened, my focus slowly shifted from school to working a full-time job at a welding shop in order to provide for my family. I still tried to attend class but was unable to find the balance between work, school and family and this reflected my grades.…

My past laid out upon a table. My GPA, my resume, my test scores. An unfamiliar man whom I met for the first time was frowning, turning around in his creaky red chair, while hurriedly trying to contextualize my life with just a few pieces of paper. For 15 minutes, he sat there, unhappy, tapping his foot, analyzing what I’ve “done” with my life. He took a sip of water and suggested that I go to community college.…

One of the biggest decisions I, along with any other high school senior, must make is where I would like to attend college. The university that I pick will have a massive impact on the way that my life shapes out over the next four years. College is a period of time where kids transition into becoming adults, and a senior must be careful to choose a school that will help them in this vulnerable time. Before I can choose which school is right for me, I must decide whether I would like to live at home next year and attend a local community college or move away. While there are many benefits to staying local during college, moving away to a college campus gives me the chance to grow spiritually, experience new things, and make new friendships.…
