What Happened When I Came Back To School? How would you feel about going back to high school if you decided not to go to school for one year? This was me back in my sophomore year of high school. After one year of not going to school I decided to go to Haysville High School to finish out my high school career. I only expected to barely get by in school but there are four things that this school has made me aware of or taught me. The first thing being that it taught me that I can do all the work given to me exceptionally well. The school taught me how to not be lazy and how to organize my work load so that I can complete work and turn it in on time. In my past years of schooling I had been known to not complete all the work assigned to me, but this school provided help whenever I needed it so I have been able to finish all homework in all of my classes. The school motivated me to do all my work because I would could get out of school early on Fridays if I turned in all work. The school taught me that all the work I do is at least somewhat valuable because it puts me closer to my goal of graduating. This is a valuable skill for life that was shown to me by the school. …show more content…
I show up to class as much as I can to know what I need to know about a topic and to complete work assigned. In the past I have missed more than a reasonable amout of days and even decided not to go to school for an entire year. This place has shown me that being at school will make it easier and less of a hassle if I just be here. I can only miss four days without a doctor’s note so that is an incentive to come to school when I can. A dilemma that I faced, and still am facing is simply the decision about what I want to do with my life after my high school career. In my freshman year of high school my goal was simply to get through the year in one piece. I was forced to conform to my new environment and all the strict rules that came along with it. Along with that it was the sudden transition from being the "big dogs" as eighth graders at my middle school to being "fresh-meat" in my first year high school. With so much attention placed on me as a freshman like on the varsity basketball team, where I was constantly forced to prove my worth to the coach and the players, to stepping out of my comfort zone and performing in a mandatory play for the rest of the the school as…

I literally woke up one morning and said to myself “I think I’ll go back to college” and I made the call. I called the College of New Rochelle and made the appointment for the admissions test. And before I knew what was actually happening, I was a matriculated college student.…
