I was always the kid in class who finished all her work and excelled on all the tests. I was eventually labeled the nerd but I enjoyed being smart. I loved the accomplished feeling after completing the assignment first and getting it all right. This stayed with me all through high school, but as I got older I wanted to venture into other activities, which led me to sports.
My parents introduced me to soccer when I was 8 and have been playing ever since, but that’s not all. Once I started middle school I participated in many other sports such as, volley and track. As soon as I got to high school I became one of those students. I was accepted into the National Honor Society, joined the junior world affairs association, DECA, and Student Council. Although it was a lot to take on I enjoyed all the community service and participating in gift exchanges at football games. I never envisioned myself as an active part of my school’s student body until now. I can proudly say I have multiple leadership positions in many of the clubs I’m in, including captain of the soccer team and Vice President of NHS and many others. Taking on these leadership roles have gifted me the confidence I didn’t have as a quirky child. I’m confidence in my work ethic, my academics and my athletic abilities.
