Personal Narrative: What Does It Means To Be A Human Person

What does it mean to be human? This question can be answered in million different ways. For myself, I had too many responses to choose from, either pressure, power, purpose, community, dreams, and so on. With a combination of all ideas, I ended up telling my story on how I have worked to create the best version of myself and continue to do so. From a different perspective, I wanted to trigger a larger crowd because Detroit is culture, traditions, and talents. I feel that everyone has small or large goals that they want to accomplish to better themselves. My story relating to Detroit, I haven’t heard anybody say they are happy where they are and don’t want to achieve anything else. Although, when it was time to narrow down one thousand words into four hundred that seemed pretty challenging. It was difficult because you had to ask yourself which phrase is important for my audience to know and will it better my story. To add on, the next step was to create a visual narrative presentation that will express the pathos, logos, and ethos of your four hundred-word script. I feel that the digital story project helped me improve as a writer and prepare for the real world. Voice in writing creates a connection with an audience. In digital story, engaging in a tone from the start is important because it will cause your audience to lose interest. Voice in writing creates a connection with an audience. In my story in particular, I began with abandoned homes and a song by Eminem. The reason is, people thought of Detroit of being abandon and dangerous, so I started with the imagination many can relate to. However as the video continued, I slowly shown attractions of Detroit because with the tone of my voice I also began to sound persuasive that Detroit was great. Another important factors that creating the voice of the digital story was lining up my clips with its designated portion of the script. Doing so, allowed the audience to feel engaged and important.
