Personal Narrative: What Does It Mean To Become An Adult

As life goes on, you are no longer a child, but an adult who faces reality. What does it mean to become an adult anyway? Is it when you turn eighteen or get your driver license? There is nothing can determinate for determining when a person becomes an adult, but one thing is for sure you must be mature and ready to take on the world. I was considered as an adult when I turned twenty and married to my husband. On April 27, my husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary. I was twenty and graduated dental assistant school when I got married to him. We lived in a house in San Antonio and shared everything like every couples. I remember when the mom of my high school friend found out I was getting married, she looked at me with disappointed face and asked, “why did you get marry so young?”. I learn how to act in front of the soldiers. We went to every events when gathering with all soldiers and family. It taught me to be open and make friends from everywhere. I become a mature, respectful and responsible person. Being a military spouse means you are going to sacrifice, feeling the pride, the honor and knowing your spouse is truly the reason you’re free to do all the things you take for granted. In past few years, experience has taught me so much in life. It shaped me to be who I am today. I’m not afraid of hard work and I’m ready to face the difficulty in the future. I will never give up. University of Texas is my dream university. I already have dreams about graduation day when I walk across the big stage and my husband and family in the stands.
