Personal Narrative: We Are The Kronenberg

On the night on June 14 around 10 o’clock as my mother was putting me to sleep, I heard a rapid knocking at the door my mother told me to stay in bed. I didn’t listen and went to the door hiding behind the couch I saw about 5 faces including a little baby in the hands of a woman with fair skin and dark hair. There was 1 more girl about the age of 15 and two men with dark hair and they were all wearing clothes that were ripped and covered in dirt. I hear them saying “help me please we are the Kronenberg”. My mother called my father he came rushing in she asked him if we were going to help them escape I asked myself escape from what just then my little brother Liuz started crying. I help mother and Antonina the portions seem different than usual. My mother urges me to go help my dad with Liuz and I do. Mother under her breath whispers to my father and says “Go feed this to them”. He rushes away to the room and later came back with the empty plates. Once he came back I snuck into the room to see what was in there and there was nothing out of the usual. Throughout the day, I repeatedly asked myself where all the food could have gone. As I go to sleep I hear a cough was not coming from any of my family members. What could it be Many days have passed and I figured out where all of our food is going and noises are coming from the family at the door, the Kronenberg's, have been hiding in our house. I confronted my parents and asked them what was going on and they explained everything. They said to me “this is a Jewish family they are hiding from the Nazi’s that are trying to kill them we haven’t told you because we wanted to protect you. Please don't tell your sister she will be terrified.” I kept the secret from my sister until June 22, …show more content…
There was a Nazi official with about 3 men waiting behind him all with guns in their belt expect the official he came in and introduce himself to my sister, my mom, my dad, and myself his name was Rosenberg. He was very polite saying please and thank you and minding his p’s and q’s until he asked my father have you heard anything about any Jewish families. He replied with a stern “no” then that was when he turned not so nice replying with “If you don't tell me then one by one my men will slowly kill off your family starting with your youngest”. I could feel my dad’s fear taking over his body I was terrified. My mother told me and my sister to go to the back room once again I didn’t listen I wanted to know what was going to happen. I tell Antonia to sit with Liuz and stay there because I was going to go and get something. I went back to the kitchen and hid behind the wall listening in on what everyone was saying. My father final gave up not wanting to put our lives in danger tell Rosenberg where they were hiding I run into the room grab Antonina and Liuz to get them out of the room. The Nazi’s walk in and point to somewhere in the room and my father nods they yell “KRONBERG'S COME OUT COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE AND THEN MAYBE WE WON'T KILL YOU”. I could feel the fear creeping over me and
