What is a God? Is He a higher being someone made up to feel better when people did something bad? Or the “person” that is up in the sky waiting for us to join Him after we die? Or a real, loving, caring higher power whose always has your back? A Christian God is a God who holds all morals and who does not want to see His people hurting, but wanting them to succeed and have a great life.…

Writing-in-Role: Holden Caulfield (the Catcher in the Rye) Selma Thurmer was Pencey’s headmaster’s daughter and seemed to possess interesting personality attributes, so I’ve decided to write about the scene where Holden talks to her on a bus in the beginning chapter of the Catcher in the Rye. Inserting scene in page three, chapter one, first paragraph: I sat next to her once in the bus from Agerstown and we sort of struck up a conversation... Personally, I wasn’t really in the mood to talk to old Selma, but I figured I’d do so because she sat right next to me on the bus.…

When I am dreaming, I sometimes am not sure if I am awake or dreaming, but when I am awake I know I am not dreaming. In dreams, I feel like I am not in control of what is happening, I am the observer. I sometimes know I am dreaming because I do things I would not normally do in real life. In dreams, things do not always make sense, like a movie skipping. In real life, this is not the case.…

In Chapter three I found the sleeping stages very interesting. I think that it is amazing that there are four total stages of sleep once you start sleeping. Also, it is cool that about every ninety minutes, you cycle through four distinct sleep stages. Out of all the stages the one that caught my attention the most was the last stage, the REM stage. This stage surprised me the most because it said that this stage arouses people the most, especially if you were to have a nightmare.…

I returned back to my seat next to my partner and as soon as I sat down, my aching legs thanked me after having to stand for such a long period of time. The heart surgeon started to make an incision in the shape of a square when the horrid smell of burning, human flesh reached my nose. Shortly after, another nurse entered the room and began to record my vital signs: blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, and respiration rate. She told me numbers that I did not understand and then left the room with the promise that the doctor would be in shortly. The paper covering the bed crinkled as I resumed fidgeting. The doctor entered the room a short time later and saved my father from my incessant movements. The phrase “the morning after” means different things to different people. Sometimes it contains a brief walk or drive of shame, sometimes it contains an emergency contraceptive and a promise to never do that to yourself again, sometimes all it is, is another morning waking up next to the love of your life after a night spent expressing that love to each other, but other times it is not so easy to just brush off the morning after…or the night before. After one drunken night with the girls my morning after turned into a week, then a month, of pain and privacy invasion - but let me start from the beginning. It was a much-needed girls night, one that started just like every other girls night we’d ever had. We did some drinking and sat around the…
