My mom met me in the front of my classroom after school that day, as usual. We walked to the car, and were home in no time. I rushed to my favorite location of the entire house, my gargantuan book shelf with my picture books and read, as per usual. It was all fine and dandy, reading about Curious George, and Amelia Bedilia, until the phone rang. Of course, I did not answer, as I was forbidden to touch the phone. It was easy to dismiss, but after a few minutes, my mom came into my room.

He probably couldn’t hear what she was saying. Deaf. I watched carefully, as he proceeded to overcome his adversities with the receptionist. My mom tapped my shoulder, bringing me out of my daze. I looked up at her, smiling slightly. I would be able to overcome this. My situation may not have been the best, but is was without doubt not the worse. I would be okay. I took one last look at the man who had just successfully finished all his paperwork and was now situated in a seat with a magazine, then left with my mom trailing behind
