I also felt that with each state having a myriad of laws that aren’t necessarily congruent with other states, let alone the federal government, would make it difficult if not impossible to have a single court. Therefore, with the way our system is set up, it is a necessity to have a multi-tiered court. When looking at the downside, I hadn’t contemplated the fact of jurisdictional conflict.…

The pain began slowly, pricking me with its sharp needles only while doing barre in ballet once a week. I ignored it, believing it to be normal, common discomfort that would soon go away, typical thoughts of a dancer whose entire sport is centered around “good pain”. Six months later, it had escalated to the degree that every step I took felt like an arrow to my knee. Dancing had become impossible, and it was determined that I should be taken to the orthopedist. The bland, brown and beige lobby became extraordinarily familiar as I waited two hours to be examined.…

A Miracle for a Vaquero As I was about to win the rodeo game, I heard the cheers of the people growing louder and louder as I approach the finish line. Instead of winning, I squinted into reality and the sun’s rays peeking through the window. As I got my hat, poncho, and pads on my legs, I was thinking about my dream. And, I thought, “Would I be able to win the rodeo game today?” My hopes were filling up, when, with a sigh, realized that I never had enough practice and did not attend many contests, so the chance of embarrassing myself was high.…
